It can't.

I supply gas to stations. If our supply folks run short, we exchange or sell gas with other companies. If we have extra, soneone else is usually running short. Ultimately, gas is a commodity traded like any other. You just don't realize that when you pull up to your local station to refuel. I load my trucks at other companies' terminals, and they load at my teminals. The only difference is the additives that are unique to each company.

However, before you start driving miles out of your way to find gas a nickel cheaper a gallon, check the math - figure miles driven both ways and how much gas it takes to make the trip at whatever the gas price is, compared to how much you save. It will probably not be worth it from an economic standpoint.

On the other hand, if you see a station on your way with low prices, fill up.

It won't. The idea is absurd, since everyone is just going to buy even more gas before and after the "boycott".Much better to try to find an alternative fuel before you can no longer afford to buy gas.

Not buying gas at all will decrease the cost of it.
It's supply and demand....

It can't, not unless you could get everyone to do it for an extended length of time, one week at the very least.

That will never happen.
