I guess you can call a person who is apathetic as dead. Apathy means an absence of emotion or enthusiasm. It also means indifference, spiritlessness.

It was what Lord Buddha asked to Himself and on realisation(Gjnaanam) Buddha's teachings crystalised to the religion Buddhism.In North America many people call him Buda--Buda means old man--He is BhuDDHa---BHUDDHI =(means) Intelligence-knowledge-wisdom(all the 3 put together)--Buddha means intelligent,knowledgeable and wise person.His original name before He became an ascetic was Siddhaartha-and he is from Nepal
