Assalaam Alaikum

This question regards to Mary (may God be pleased with her).
I read somewhere that you(catholics) believe that Mary(r.a) did not die a natural death. That she also ascended to heaven.

Can you please tell me upon which gospel this is based, since i can not find it in the Bible? Also if it is based on a Gospel then why is the gospel not included into the Bible? If there is something wrong with the gospel(corrupt) then why believe in what it say about Mary(r.a)?

Thank you. I just like to get a clear catholic perspective.

None.

But you will find impressive attempts by Catholic apologists, pr agents and spin doctors to "create" the impression that one exists. Of course, no definitive scripture exists to say Mary "ascended into Heaven" and anyone who claims is writing pure fiction.

Catholics worship, I mean as a Goddess- Mary as Queen of Heaven. That is precisely how she is viewed and many, thousands of churches have statues of Mary with a crown in recognition of this official catholic position.

Catholics since 1871 also worship the Pope as a Living Deity (God) on Earth being infallible and therefore above all human law and all other human beings.

Jesus was human and never considered himself infallible, so today Pope Benedict is technically a more powerful God under the pantheon of Gods and saints of the Catholic Church.

Of course, such concepts are strenuously denied. So too are 20 centuries of crimes against humanity

I'll let you decide who is telling the truth.

>>I read somewhere that you(catholics) believe that Mary(r.a) did not die a natural death.<<

The Catholic Church has no teaching on that.

>>That she also ascended to heaven.<<

The teaching is that she was ASSUMED into Heaven by God (ascended implies she did it under her own power, like Jesus).

>>i can not find it in the Bible?<<

Not everything was written in the Bible. That is why St. Paul instructs us thusly: "So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter." -- 2 Thessalonians 2:15

Mary's Assumption into Heaven
Gen. 5:24, Heb. 11:5 - Enoch was bodily assumed into heaven without dying. Would God do any less for Mary the Ark of the New Covenant?

2 Kings 2:11-12; 1 Mac 2:58 - Elijah was assumed into heaven in fiery chariot. Jesus would not do any less for His Blessed Mother.

Psalm 132:8 - Arise, O Lord, and go to thy resting place, thou and the Ark (Mary) of thy might. Both Jesus and Mary were taken up to their eternal resting place in heaven.

2 Cor. 12:2 - Paul speaks of a man in Christ who was caught up to the third heaven. Mary was also brought up into heaven by God.

Matt. 27:52-53 - when Jesus died and rose, the bodies of the saints were raised. Nothing in Scripture precludes Mary's assumption into heaven.

1 Thess. 4:17 - we shall be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and so we shall always be with the Lord.

Rev. 12:1 - we see Mary, the "woman," clothed with the sun. While in Rev. 6:9 we only see the souls of the martyrs in heaven, in Rev. 12:1 we see Mary, both body and soul.

2 Thess. 2:15 - Paul instructs us to hold fast to oral (not just written) tradition. Apostolic tradition says Mary was assumed into heaven. While claiming the bones of the saints was a common practice during these times (and would have been especially important to obtain Mary's bones as she was the Mother of God), Mary's bones were never claimed. This is because they were not available. Mary was taken up body and soul into heaven.

It is not based on a Gospel that we believe in the Assumption. There are apocrypha from early A.D,, which I believe you can find online, on which we base this belief.

i could not find this in Gospel either, perhaps it was in some of the Gospel that was order burnt, or just invented by man like the trinity.

you are speaking of the doctrine of 'assumption' - it has a different meaning than ascension -- also, i don't think there is a doctrine anywhere that mary did not die a natural death -
