Jeremiah 7:18
The children gather wood, the fathers light the fire, and the women knead the dough and make cakes of bread for the Queen of Heaven. They pour out drink offerings to other gods to provoke me to anger.

catholics, you call mary queen of heaven. i only know of the queen of heaven of the pagans in this jeremiah verse.

do you think that mary will testify that she was never the queen of heaven, but just a humble, faithful woman on Judgment Day?

I see that you still do not know how to interpret Scripture. The queen of heaven referred to in the verse does not refer to the Blessed Mother. It is the Assyro-Babylonian Ishtar, goddess of fertility, whose worship was introduced under King Manasseh and was revived after Josiah's death. Cakes shaped like stars (Ishtar was identified with the planet Venus) were offered in her honor.

Where does your authority to interpret Scripture come from? All of this wrangling of how to interpret Scripture gets one nowhere if there is no way to know with infallible certitude that one's interpretation is the right one. The teaching authority of the Catholic Church is infallible because it comes directly from Christ.

"And so I tell you. Peter; you are a rock, and on this rock foundation I will build my church, and not even death will ever be able to overcome it. I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of heaven; what you prohibit on earth will be prohibited in heaven and what you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.." - Matthew 16,18-20

Christ sent the Holy Spirit to guide and protect the Church till the end of the age.

"When, however, the Spirit comes who reveals the truth about God, he will LEAD YOU INTO ALL TRUTH." - John 16,13

"I have told you this while I am still with you, The Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything and make you remember all that I have told you". - John 14, 25

The Catholic Church is the Church of the living God and the pillar and foundation of truth.

"But if I delay, this letter will let you know how we should conduct ourselves in God's household, which is the Church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of truth". - 1 Timothy 3, 15

"Whoever listens to you listens to me; whoever rejects you rejects me; and whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me." - Luke 10,16

Friend, your interpretation is wrong because your authority to interpret does not come from God.

May the Lord's peace be with you!

Well it depends how you view the role of Mary in the plan of salvation, you know there was never a problem concerning this until Luther,Calvin and Co/ came along.
The facts according to the Catholic church are that Mary was kept sinless from the moment of conception due to the applied merits of the future salvation gained by the death and ressurrection of Christ Her Son, plus the fact that Jesus was divine and human and in His divine nature could not abide sin and therefore could not be born in the womb of a sinner.
Therefore if as we believe Mary was without sin then She also represents the new Eve,the first who rebelled and the second who sais `Yes` to God`s plan in total humility and submission.
Now if Christ promised that the Apostles would sit on thrones in Heaven would He do any less for His beloved Mother and because of Her role wouldn`t Her reward be even greater?
If Christ is the King and we know that He is then it takes only a little humility to see Mary as Queen.

Isis is also known by this title,She is the goddess of a thousand names. If you go back in time you will find that the catholic religion is very much based on pagan rites and beliefs. All religions are man made, man found a way to use religion to control and cause fear in all society. Look at what religion is doing to the world right now and that will answer your question.

It is true that Catholics effectively worship Mary as Queen of Heaven. Any answer to the contrary is deliberately misleading.

Any mention of the Communion of Saints by Catholic apologists, pr agents and spin doctors is totally irrelevant to this question. So too is any argument that Mary is just considered one of the more important saints of the church.

Catholics worship, I mean as a Goddess- Mary as Queen of Heaven. That is precisely how she is viewed and many, thousands of churches have statues of Mary with a crown in recognition of this official catholic position.

Catholics since 1871 also worship the Pope as a Living Deity (God) on Earth being infallible and therefore above all human law and all other human beings.

Jesus was human and never considered himself infallible, so today Pope Benedict is technically a more powerful God under the pantheon of Gods and saints of the Catholic Church.

Of course, such concepts are strenuously denied. So too are 20 centuries of crimes against humanity

Revelation 12

A woman clothed with the sun....on her head a CROWN of twelve stars....

Who is the son of this woman?...A male child destined to rule all the nations with an iron rod. (Jesus)

Whoever/whatever **you** believe the woman in that passage to be, is it such a terrible stretch to grant to your Catholic brothers and sisters the possibility that the woman clothed with the sun and ***wearing a crown*** who gave birth to a male child destined to rule the nations with an iron rod might be MARY? It is certainly a plausible interpretation of that passage even if you disagree with it as definitive. Certainly there is room enough to grant grace to your Catholic brothers and sisters that you can at least SEE how their undersanding of Sacred Scripture leads them to call Mary the Queen of Heaven.

As for Mary's testimony of herself. She has declared herself to be the handmaid of the Lord and it should be done unto her according to the word of the Lord. I think she might prefer to be a humble faithful woman, but if the Lord declares otherwise it is HIS word and not hers that will matter.

We all are one. There is no respect of persons with God.
So any question 'to Catholics' is division-all, not unifying.
(Mark & Avoid them causing "divisions": Romans 16:17)

As for "children", whether "children" of wicked or of God,
The "higher" exhortation is: "be no more children": Eph 4.

Playing the blame game inducts all into a hall of shame.
Let's move on from such law law, to being more grace us.

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

Mother of God, Queen of Heaven. What's the difference?

The point is, with the love of Mary, we are able to love our neighbor and God more profoundly. Love is biblical, since God is Love, who is "in all and though all".

here the people were making offereings to what they thought was a 'godess' -- when Catholics use the term 'queen of heaven' or other terms - it is merely a title/name indicating respect - kind of like what people use for royalty, or political leaders.

I'm not Catholic, but the "Queen of Heaven" seems like it's intended to be a title of reverence....like "The hostess with the mostess" or "The king of rock n' roll".....they are not to be taken literally.

i have a lot questions too regarding the Catholic and thier customs. They don't seem to in harmony with the Bible, the True Word of God. No where in the Bible does it say that we should pray to mary or whatever. It seems like idolatry to me...
