I have a very large tattoo on my upper right arm and parts of it are raised. It's not visible unless you get really close, but it feels odd to the touch, and there is color variation there. Would any of the creams marketed for scar reduction help with this, or would it ruin my tattoo?

If its older than a few months than NO. This usually happens because the tattoo artist has basically stuffed up and it will be like that for life im afraid. It doesn't cause any health problems or anything. If it is all normal and doesn't bleed or hurt than your all good but don't ever go back to that tattooist as it is a bad job on his behalf

how old is the tattoo? if the tattoo is brand new you may be able to put something on the scars and make them go down. when one of my feet healed i had a small part that was raised and i continued to put A&D on it every day for about three months and it finally went down. not sure about scar cream and what it may do to the ink but if the tattoo is older then it is probably just scarred permanently.

Don't worry about it. Some of the inks used, especially those with reds" cause a small allergic reaction. I have a tattoo that was done 4 years ago and it still gets a little textured every now and then. The only thing that I would put on it is SPF45 when you area getting some sun.

I would allow your tattoo to heal naturally. Don't waste your money on any of those creams for scar reduction. I work for a plastic surgeon who claims they are not effective in reducing scarring.
