The number of days in a year on our present calendar
which is 365 days or 366 days is not according to the bible., b ut according to the Roman Cathoilics who made changes of our calendar which is the Hebrew calendar. They have entirely changed it including the first day of a week and the calendar which we are using today is called the Roman calendar. See your calendar now and examine it . All the Holy days written are considered holiday by the Cathoic religion, like the christmas day, holy thursday, good friday and all sundays and there are many more holidays which the catholics are celebrating.

The 365 days a year is based on how long it takes the earth to orbit once around the sun. The month is based on how long it takes to go from new moon to new moon (about 30 days).
Ancient calendars use to use 12 30 day months, or 360 days a year. However they realized that over a course of several years the seasons would begin to be out of synch (because of the extra five days it took the earth to complete its orbit). So they would add an occasional leap month to straighten things out.
Today, we have several months of 31 days and add a leap years day once every 4 years instead for the same purpose.

Ultimately, all calendars began with people recording time by using natural cycles: days, lunar cycles (months), and solar cycles (years).
The year is 365 days 5 hours 48 minutes 46 seconds long or 365.242199 days.
The time between full moons is 29.53 days.
Various peoples have attempted to organize these cycles into calendars to keep track of time and to be able to predict future events of importance to them, such as the annual Nile flood in ancient Egypt.
The main problem is that these natural cycles do not divide evenly. So a month measured by the moon doesn't equal an even number of days, and a solar year is not equal to a certain number of moon cycles (months or "moon"ths).
Early people could either try to stay in sync with the moon, perhaps making months alternating combinations of 29 and 30 days, with special rules to resync occasionally with a solar year by adding leap months (such as the Jewish or Chinese calendar) or abandon lunar cycles and concentrate on the solar year (such as the Ancient Egyptian calendar of 12 same-sized months).

the Hebrew Calendar of biblical times actually had an average of 365 days and was based on lunar /solar cycles. I can't really explain it, as it is a very complicated system that has modified itself over time. If you want to research what it was like at biblical times, check the sources below.

When you are asking some questionable statements in the Bible, you give the title of the book, the chapter and the particular verse so we could study through it together.
Theres no such statement in the Bible. Science has it, History has it, Philosophy has it and the Bible has not it but does not say anything on total or exact number but years.

Man led to it. They wanted a way to keep accurate track of a year and they invented the calender. When Jesus was on earth, they went by the seasons, a fortnight, and what ever other things they had back then.
