well...if its to improve kickis, you will ned to improve your hip power as well.

WAys to improve leg and hip power include:

yoga
frog jumps from all fours as high as possible
squatting in shower (rest on calves)
squat over toilet
walk with knees bent more than usual for thigh training
practice various kicks excruciatingly slowly
ties light weights to feet and walk with them on all day

whatever else you can think of or find

You can do jump squats and other plyometric exercises. One thing that helped me develop kicking power was an exercise called the "Dragon Walk". It is hard on the knees and your legs will scream at you but it does work.
To do the exercise you will need some light hand weights. Bottles of water will work if you have nothing else. Put one in each hand.. Find a strech of flooring with no obstructions. A hallway works well. Next; and this is the fun part, step forward into a deep lunge. Hold the bottles of water out horizontal with the floor(keep them there during the entire exercise). Next... take another step forward. Rember to remain in the lunge position. Travel up and back as many times as you can. Each time up and back counts as one repetition.
I carry 5lb. weights and I travel a length of 50 ft. for 80 reps. At the end my legs burn. To make it more interesting you can use 2lb. leg weights on your ankles along with the bottles of water in your hands.

Besides practicing your kicks a weight training program for your hips and legs will also help build the power you are looking for. Seated leg presses followed by leg curls and leg extensions is a good routine. Medium weight, high repetition will build your power while also enhancing your speed. You can substitute squats for seated leg presses but they are harder on the lower back and you sometimes see weight lifters hurt themselves doing them so the seated leg press machine is a much safer way to build the strength that you are looking for. Some "kickers" use elastic bands also with their weight training allowing them to build power throughout the entire kicking motion.

All the answers given will do it. The bigger (muscle) the better. The formula for power is basic : weight X speed = power. Increase your mass and speed. Also look at the answers for the "doing a technique 1000 times" question for speed and efficiency.

well im not in kungfu......but if ur have a punching bag then work on kicking it.

remember to use ur hips and come down at an angle.

if u dont have a punching then just lift weights using ur legs or go running everyday.
