I love how it says Calories.. 0.. like its healthy ... yet is it really that bad for you?

The short answer is yes.

0 calories doesn't necessarily mean it's good for you. There are many minor problems related to sugar substitutes, from headaches to bladder irritation. Check out the linked article for a bit more info on that.

Generally, it's best to reach for water whenever possible.

Nope. Not healthy. I also agree that most sugar subs are also not healthy. However, when I get tired of plain water, I mix in some lemon juice or lemon ade, whatever is in the fridge. (I have a nice stache of organic lemonade that I got free after sale price and double coupons last summer. I was even blessed to be able to donate some to a food pantry.) I put in one packet of sweetner, whatever I have on hand, I seem to collect them when I go to restaurants. I also add some filtered water. It's a nice change. About once a week I have a soda. I went from once a day. Over the weekend, I gave a 24 pack of diet cola and half of another 24 pack of diet cola to my parents, as they would drink it quicker than what my husbnad and I would. (He's cutting out soda becuase it's not agreeing with him. I'm pregnant.)

Nah. Stick with water. Even the flavored stuff is a little better, I think.

I lost 38 pounds and I must admit I was an avid Cola drinker. Now, I limit my intake to a can per day. I always try to find sodas which contain Splenda instead of Asparthame, not just for the bad (so called) publicity regarding Asparthame (it's not THAT bad - you'd have to drown in it to become ill), but for the taste, which, at least to my taste, comes closer to the real McCoy (read : sugar)

Definitely yes. It is bad for you.

To start with, it's soda. There's no way it's healthy.

Second and most important: They HAVE TO replace the sugar and the original ingredients with something else in order to retain the same flavor. They usually do that with carboxilic acids (responsible for the flavor) and therefore you're just drinking a bunch of chemistry.

Drinking fabrics softener is just as healthy.

just cos it's got no calories in it doesn't mean it's healthy! health is not all about weight loss! avocados are good for you in moderation but are full of fat! any drinks claiming to be 'diet' can be bad for you because they're often full of chemicals and toxins that the body can't process or use. often, the toxins that can't be broken down end up being stored as, guess what?! fatty tissue. drink natural fruit juices and plenty of water instead. don't be fooled by fancy advertising and health claims!!

It's not good, but it's still better than the regular stuff. The warnings about artificial sweeteners tend to ignore the fact that you would have to drink about six hundred cans of diet coke per day to get cancer. Otherwise, it isn't really that bad. Everything in moderation, as they say.

Its not good for you...no soda is. Just because there's no calories doesn't mean its good for you. I would limit the amount you consume and try some other low-sugar drinks that you enjoy.
