Being a good steward means to take care of almost anything by using good sense. A good steward may be one who handles money for someone else or a home for a family who is away. We are told to be stewards of the Earth, meaning that we must take care of our planet and use its resources wisely.

A steward was the trusted guardian of your castle and
all your wealth within. If he locked you out you were seriously
screwed. so a good steward was one who performed his
duties faithfully and loyaly to the end. without him you
couldn't do much cause you had to trust someone.

I believe it means to handle your money wisely, try not to get into debt, and always tithe a portion back to God. Biblically speaking, this is ten percent of your income. Christians believe that by doing so, God always blesses the giver in return.
