I know a bed for baby is called "crib" in America. Do you call it "baby bed", too?

No we don't call it baby bed. It is called Crib in American English & a cot in British English but a lot of people in my country who don't know the term for crib use "baby bed". The only term that has baby bed that I know of is baby BEDding.

I have a 21 month old daughter, and we've never referred to the crib as a baby bed, although, essentially that IS what it is. But when referring to the crib, we have referred to it as the babies bed. or when she is sleeping, we say she is in bed, or she is her bed sometimes, rather then she is in her crib.

Then there is a stage where you put them in a miniature bed before actually into a twin size bed. That bed is referred to as a toddler bed.

I wouldn't say baby bed is incorrect English. Of course, correct English would really depend on how you used it in the whole sentence. It's just not a phrase that is used. Hope that helps :)

A baby bed can be a crib. It's also used to describe a somewhat larger bed with no slats on the sides that the child moves into when he/she gets old enough to roll over in bed & not fall off.

A crib or cot has sidebars for a baby or small child to sleep in safely. A kind of miniature adult bed for, say, someone three years or above might be called a baby bed. But to be honest, I've never heard anyone say it.

You can call it either or. But, in reality, a baby bed is what it really is, whereas a crib is a baby bed with a different name. Keep in mind there are different kinds of baby beds, so you may come across different names while talking with people or shopping.
