It entertains. Sometimes enlightens. Occasionally disgusts. Often confuses.

Well, I have to say enlighten because I didn't know how intolerant some people can be before looking at this section. I don't mind religious debates, because everyone is entitled to their opinions and to believe what they want, but some people on here are completely closed-minded and call other people who don't believe the same thing idiots. This happens no matter what viewpoint you're looking from. So, I say it's enlightening because it reminds me how intolerant the world can really be. I'm around my friends who have the same views as me so much that it's easy to forget that.

From a cultural perspective, it's definitely enlightening. For example, I assumed, as an American, that the state of religion in Europe was roughly the same as it is here. Far from it.

I imagine that members of minority belief systems are overrepresented here, and as such it's an excellent place to find atheists, pagans, Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, Muslims (minority among English speakers) and any group with a point of view that the majority finds peculiar.

To a very small extent, it certainly is enlightening because I like asking followers of different faiths about their religions and sometimes I receive very good, informative answers.
I am far too comfortable with my beliefs to be confused.
Cheers & peace.

It gives me the chance to know how the others think. Its fruitfull also to know more about others' faiths which makes you think more about your faith ....
For me, it leads me to be more sure and confident about my own faith.
Hope you get the same feeling.... If not, and if you got confused then accept my advice to read more and more... But you should avoid the hate and offensive websites, be sure that you get the information from the honest source.

Peace
