Actually rice is a primary staple served at almost every meal. Furthermore, if you have special dietary requirements based on religion for example you can special order meals. I have a friend who is an Orthodox Jew and he orders kosher meals all the time. There are even field rations to supplement this need.

NO worries the food we get in the Service isn’t amazing but it isn’t as bad as it once was...it just gets repetitive so we tend to complain.

oh yeah... they have rice! Rice is not just a staple in asian culture. American farmers have been raising rice since the colonies.

I actually liked the "Parboiled Rice" T-rats. But, I was raised on rice.

Yes they do. Rice is a staple. It's fairly disgusting (unless you get the long-grained stuff in the DFAC, and that's very hit or miss) and the MRE rice ... is disgusting.

I always preferred to just eat rice out in theater off of the local economy in Iraq. Better that way even though they cook it in this oil that takes your gut a while to get used to.
