That is the inherent flaw of blind faith. The idea of a "true" god is not a part of many faiths but the ones that do include it have little to say when asked how they know they have not been deceived. Maybe Christ was the work of the devil, after all, his existence means that God lacked the power or desire to forgive people with true love and patience.

History is written by the victor. If the devil won, he could make himself god.

We don't follow strict rules because the bible says so. We follow Jesus because he saved us. and If The devil is pretending to be god well I would rather live my life as if there is a god and die to find out there isn't than to live my life as if there isn't and die to find out there is.

Well, it is hypothetically :D ..... if hypothetically there is a devil and a god fight, then they have to prove that they are the devil and the god ...... :P.

There was a religious group who thought that this was hell. Needless to say they were persecuted out of existence (so perhaps they had a point).
