My cat does the same thing to me. Only he'll follow me to the bathroom, in the kitchen, he'll sit outside the shower while I'm in there and even when I leave he'll be sitting by the door and he'll be in the same spot when I get home. Even when I go to bed at night he'll come and jump up on my bed and sleep with me. And when I'm sitting on the couch he'll sit on my lap. I think she just loves you and and doesn't want you to go. Either that or maybe she wants to go with you.

For me it can get irritating sometime, but I just figure my cat loves me.

My cat isn't allowed outside though because of all the fleas and ticks and parasites he could get. When I got him he had fleas and those were a pain to get rid of. Hopefully your cat doesn't get hit by a car being outside like that.

Of course she misses you! I think that is really cute. I used to have a cat that would do the same thing - but he would also be waiting in the bushes when I would get off the bus at night and we would race home. It isn't causing the cat any distress or anything, if that is what you are worried about. Remember, we like to think that we choose our cats, but actually they choose who they want to be close too in a family. Just enjoy the love !!

Yup, that's right! I have a cat and he does the same thing too. Whenever we leave for a vacation or when we are packing a suitcase, he seems to sense that he will be left at the vet and thus, he will try his best to "upset" our plans. He will sit in the suitcase, mess up the folded clothes, drag things off, etc.

He is very attached to my mom and misses her when she is away. I can tell from his meow, which sounds very different, almost melancholy. If I were to put a piece of her clothing in front of him, he will lie on it and start kneading it!

Cats do something called "imprinting." This is especially true for kittens. They assume that the human who feeds them and is in constant contact with them is their parent (mother).

So everyday when you walk away and get onto that bus, kitty thinks you're going away and he/ she is never going to see you again! So, those meows are almost like "Please don't leave me!"

That is so cute! My cat used to follow me around everywhere. If i had my door closed at night (he slept between my legs which wasn't comfortable) he would sctrach at my door all night or sleep right in front of it. When I left him home for college mom kept my door shut for 4 months, she said it was the most heratbreaking thing to see when she opened it up and he didn't see me. Despite the stereo-type, some cats really bond to their owners. Mine did. As my friend so uncouthly put it he died of a broken heart about 6 months after I left.

Its a form of separation anxiety I expect. But my neighbor's cats used to follow him when he walks to the 7-11 store which involved crossing a street. He used to think it was real cool too. But the cat got used to staying too near the roads and actually crossing them. One day the cat got hit by a car.
Its your choice... but if I were you, I would make sure that MY cat was safely indoors before I left for work.

My goodness, aren't you worried that something will happen to her? Hit by a car, picked up by the ani,mal control, or pick up some disease, or even hurt by evil people, which there are plent of. Please get a litter tray and keep her in while you are gone. Feed her and leave some crunchies and fresh water. Then you are guaranteed she will be there when you get home. Yes, she fillows you because she loves you and wants to be with you.

Perhaps she's commenting on what a fine morning this is (or what a lousy day this has started out to be) or maybe she's telling you to have a good day and remember to come home. Who knows what goes on in that little kitty brain? Or maybe she's just chatting because she feels so good. Hard to say....
