All religions practiced in current day have 'borrowed stuff' form earlier religions. There is nothing simple about it.
Many of the holiday customs we practice use rituals started in other cultures - 'Easter' eggs were first decorated by ancient Greece; and we incorporated them into our holiday as a symbol of rebirth and transformation.
Hebrews did not celebrate Chanukah as the gift giving holiday it is now until after Christmas was commercialized.
I remember when ' no one' heard of Kwaanza.
A believing Christian is not 'scared of dying', because we believe in Eternal Life.
The vast majority of Christian practice takes place all year, every day, in and out of church. There is one book of the Bible
that tells the story of Christ's birth, out of 66 books.[ not including the prophecies in the Old Testament.]
Perhaps you should do a little more research the next time you attack, so we both can have an intelligent discussion.

The fact is, knowledge is a source of power, as is faith and tolerance.
Using any power to try to remove another's source of power is an admission of weakness. The fact is, you seem to be scared--thus the display of "power" in the form of knowledge.
What you and others like you seem to be trying to do is much like kicking the crutches out from underneith a cripple or stealing a little old lady's pension check. I can have no respect for such a lack of honor.
The reality is that, if all of the "borrowed" stuff has survived the millennia, maybe there is something to it, if nothing more than it's ability to give power to those who are willing to open themselves up to it.
By the way, any contemporary knowledge has, to, been "borrowed" from earlier sources and has been manipulated--or has evolved--into what it is now. By that measure, what makes it better than any religion?
By trying to convince others that your way is the only way, it seems as if--in reality--you are simply trying to convince yourself.
I'm sorry that you are not comfortable and confident in your own beliefs and faith--and yes, professing an absence of faith is still a form of faith--to allow others to have their own beliefs and faith.
If knowledge, faith and tolerance are, as I said earlier, sources of strength and power, what could you have if you possessed all three in equal shares?

the jewish "religion" was passed down, and within those prophesies, are prophesies of the coming of the messiah. jewish leaders refused Jesus when He came despite over 300 prophesies concerning His arrival. Josephus, an atheistic jew, even wrote about Jesus. Christianity is the fulfillment of the prophesy to the jews concerning the messiah and that the gentiles would be given a promise as well. I really dont see any other religions than judaism, which is obvious because we use the torah in our Bible. btw, what other religions did we "borrow from" and what did we borrow specifically?? I see it more of like other religions borrowed from judaism if you ask me!

Borrowed stuff from other religions such as what?? The 10 commandments? The flood? Abraham, Isac, Jacob? Jesus Christ. CHRIST as in CHRISTian. Salvation is through the Son of God..aka Jesus Christ. Jesus as savior is borrowed from no other religion. Some "religions" have the moon as their god. I don't think you'll see a Christian praying to the moon any time soon.

Lets see now, Judaism is the first religion with " One God". Christianity came along after that and Jesus was a Jew so I guess you could say he copied except he was just using his own religion. Then Islam came about. Actually Abraham was the father of 3 religions. Guess you need to bone up a little more since your first assumption is wrong so stands to reason the rest is also.

Nope, not true. Sorry.
The Jew's were the correct religion b4 that...but their religion came with a promise, that someone new would come and form things perfectly. So Jesus was the promise and he formed new things from the existing jewish religion.
And I think everyone is a little scared of death but I just work hard on living my life for God so later on after I die I can live with God forever and ever.
Pax!

But you're forgetting that the core of Christianity is not the morlity tales of the old testament, but the belief in Jesus. So while alot of things found in the bible are borrowed or modified from ancient myths and legends (note: not from other religions!) as they aren't the core of the Christian faith they have only as much metaphorical importance as any one believer puts on them.

ok aquilis and philis or what ever are so wrong. tell me where these so called previous religions were. How is it that there is so much documented truth to our faith that isn't in the bible but accredited by many other trustworthy sources? So when you all die because you belive we are liers and face god, dont be surprised when your sent to hell with a foot in the butt.

One must first have a relationship with GOD through JESUS.
John 3:16[kjv] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
so when we believe in JESUS we have eternal life.JESUS lived a sinless life and gave up his life as a sacrifice so we can be sin free. Ask JESUS to come into your heart and forgive ur sins and cleanse ur past with his blood.
With a simple prayer like above u can be saved.JESUS loves u and wants u to be saved.

The amusing thing with Christians is that they think that somehow the older can be the counterfeit. Just one correction, they didn’t borrow loads of stuff, they borrowed everything. There is not one doctrine original to Christianity, not one. Nope, not even a single one.
