maybe if they had another driver kenny was competed in the CUP series from 93 to 03 without ever making it to victory lane he came close like at the fall 2000 talledega race where he finished 2nd to Dale Earnhardt sr. he then went back to his old stomping grounds of the Busch series where he's won 11 races, from 03 to 06 and did'nt win since then, well the closest he came to winning another Busch race was a night night race at Darlington where he finished second to Matt Kenseth

I Dont bank the #78 Furniture Row chevy to be in victory lane anytime soon "maybe" if he's very lucky a few top 10's

I love Kenny; he is the new clown prince of NASCAR since Mickey went all serious on us. But, he wasn't hired by Furniture Row to be a contender; just to be on the track.

Kenny has had some flashes of success in the Busch series; but he is a field filler in the Cup; and he seems content with that.

By contend do you mean wins or top 5 to 10 finishes. He has had good runs before in the #78 car and in a few years his team could be good at some of the tougher tracks like Darlington or Bristol.

At certain tracks, why can't he contend. For a lackluster team, he did well at the All Star race and he seems to always be in the top 30 near the end of the race. Something will have to happen to improve his program a little, but I can see him breaking into the top twenty or top fifteen every other week.

No. Kenny Wallace will be known as a great Busch driver, but never will win in Cup. This team is grossly underfunded.

Kenny is an excellent driver.Problem is he(and Mike) lived in the shadow of Rusty so they had a hardeer learning curve to contend with.
If Kenny had a Hendricks-Gibbs-Penski-Roush quaility ride he would be a top 10 every week.

I don't think Kenny could contend if he was driving for Hendrick Motorsports and had Chad Knaus as his crew chief. It could get him into the top 15-20 but certainly not the chase.

I just do not think Kenny has the talent to drive and win every week consistantly. I think he is much better on television. Man I love that guy on speed channel. I wish he could be a better racer but he has a long career ahead of him in sports broadcasting.
