I am pretty sure my major g.p.a is going to be better then my overall one, would it be ok to just put that?

Sure it would!
A resume is there to build you up and look AWESOME to a potential employer. You should do whatever you can (without lying of course) to make yourself seem the most desireable.

Hope you get a job soon!

It is best to put a cumulative GPA and if it isn't over 3., I'd leave it off. It's probably true that putting a GPA with just your major content area would cause curiosity - if not concern -- so leave it off if you can't provide the overall one. It isn't that big of a deal most of the time as there are usually other factors that influence whether or not you get an interview, such as an excellent cover letter and resume. Then, if you get an interview, how well you perform there will be the final determining factor. But, unless you present your credentials in a favorable manner you won't even get an interview.

As a perspective employer, the only thing I care about is 1) where you went to school (the quality of the program) 2) Any honors you accumulated (graduating summa or magna *** laude would be a real plus), and yes 3) I want to see you cummulative GPA. If I got a GPA put on there for your major, and not your cummulative GPA, it would raise all kinds of red flags that you were trying to hide something. 1 and 2 are more important than 3, because I am trying to determine how well you will 'fit' into the organization, and the GPA doesn't tell me much about your 'fit'.

Don't bother. With grade inflation and different majors your G.P.A. may seem low.

I'm not sure what you mean by major GPA. You must put your Cumulative though. That's the only one anyone will be interested in.

Unless you are applying for grad school...

No one cares about your GPA. Leave it off your resume.
