I will be patient and kind. I will not be jealous or boastful or proud or rude. I know that LOVE does not demand its own way. I will seek not to be irritable, and I will not hold any record of wrongs. I will never be glad about injustice, but I will rejoice when the truth wins out for you. I will never give up on you, never lose faith in you. I promise to always be hopeful in through adversary, and seek God to endure through every circumstance.
Based on 1 Corinthians chapter 13 verses 4-7

as we enter into this legally binding contract, we both agree to love one another fully, wholly and completely. this means that we risk the other, at anytime, becoming ridiculously violent and slapping and/or punching the other in the face, head, neck or stomach.
if we are lucky enough for these violent actions to never take place, then, more than likely, financial crises will arise which will piss us both off to no end. this will give great cause for divorce at which time the bride will, more than likely, squeeze every possible cent from the groom's wealth (if he has any).
if we are lucky enough to overcome the possible financial and violent turmoils, then the burdens of the in-laws will surely run us rough-shod into the ground until all hope is lost.
I do.

These are the vows I've written for my handfasting on Saturday.
I come here today, of mine own free will
To join my life with yours
I promise to share my happiness and sadness for the rest of my life with you
I promise to trust you with all that I have and all that I am
I promise to respect you and to support your dreams
I promise to return your love with all my might
You have accepted me, despite my flaws
You support me when I feel weak
Your love has helped me through some very rough patches in my life
I promise to spend the rest of my life showing you how much everything you do means to me and how much I truly do love you
)o( Blessed Be!

When I write my vows I want it to be personal. I have thought about it and it will go something like this
"When we met, I had a broken heart and thought that it would never mend. I also doubted that I would find love again, especially now that I had a young child. Who would want me? I thought. Then I met you, and you wanted me and loved me. You understood me and wanted to help me care for my son. You have filled my heart with joy and you are the best father to our son that I could have imagined. God has blessed us so much and I will never leave you, I will love you endlessly, with everything that I have within me. You mean so much to me and when we are together I feel like I am home. I love you and will love you through everything."

Let man not seperate what God has united.
(man - Including the bridgegroom and the bride)
Or from a bridegroom/bride -
I will live with you till the end of my life and share the joy, sorrow together with you.
bridegroom- I pray for Gods wisdom to be the head of the family and run it according to His word.
bride - I pray for Gods strength to carry out the responsibilties and show love for the family in the Lord always.

check out the poetry of Rainer Maria Rilke, for starters...amazing stuff about relationships.
here's a piece from my vow to my wife ten years ago, if it helps at all....I opened this way before making my vows, which I kept simple.
As I face you and hold your hands, I see your
Beauty, strength and brilliance
I desire your vision, I swim in your languid eyes
Your blue pools
Blankets and galaxies which keep me
Sentient and present
You are there, you are always there

I have searched for the longest time for someone that I could love, share my life with, and strive to be happy. In you, I have found the perfect person to fill my dreams. I take you now, to be my partner until we leave this life. I take you as my love, my friend, my partner, and will not allow anyone to come between us.

Keep in mind that a wedding is the ultimate worship service to Jesus Christ. It's in His image we are made, and what God puts together let no one tear asunder.
As a woman I would probably say something like, "I promise to love, honor, respect and obey you in the ways of our Lord Jesus Christ. I stand here today in front of witnesses to declare my love for you and to show my love for our Creator in this blessed union of souls that is a reflection of the relationship between Christ and His bride, the Church. Until death do us part is my vow, I love you."
