How does one worship god?

Question

I am not very religious, do not attend church, and am agnostic. I ponder the existence of god and have from time to time began to ask him for something, although, I usually stop myself since I have never done anything for God and thus have no room to ask for anything in return.

My question is essentially what can I do for God, not so I can feel less guilty about asking for favors, simply so I could do something for God, assuming God exists.

We need to worship God on his own terms.
He is truthful, & demands truth from his worshippers.
So, we need to learn what the facts about him --& what he finds acceptable-- are. Only then can we truly understand & appreciate what he actually stands for.

Many think that God has no problems, & is happy as a lark, while we suffer. However, he is actually painfully aware of the problems being experienced by us daily, just as he was in Noah's day before the flood:

You can do what God wanted you to do for God.Not what other people wanted from you to do.God has informed this to people via prophets and books.There were many prophets even Jesus was a prophet God sent to us with a task.But today only the orders of last prophet Mohammad rules are valid.İf you follow regulations of Koran you will do exactly what God wanted you to do in your world life and sure will win the heaven in your eternal life as a reward.Other ways which are not confirmed by only one creator God will carry you in hell forever.

First of all, God does not want your "religious" acts, but your heart. Thank God for your very existence, then maybe you can acknowledge His. Love God who gave you life, breath and for the desire to do something for Him, as this could be the opportunity He is giving you to turn to Him before your life and breath is over in this physical life. Pray to God to give you faith in His Son, Jesus who died for you so that you may live eternally with Him forever in His Kingdom. As far as a Muslim is concerned we cannot do anything for God, in that he is beyond having needs, like a human. It is man who is in need not God.

What we do is obedience and that's for his pleasure. In the Quran God encourages us to ask so he can give, because he is the best of all givers. I hope this makes sense.

The best way to give something to God is by having a personal relationship with Him.To develop a relationship by tslking to him ,by believing in him the more you practice this the more you see and feel Gods miracles in .your life.If you think of God as your father and realize this is exactly what he is,realize he loves us beyond our ability to love and think the way your biological parents love you and just because you do something wrong they don't ever say ,Get out of my life your no good. Just as God your father wouldn't.He may get dissappointed when we hurt ourselves and or others ,but it's just because he loves us and wants the very best for us.You begin to feel an awsome peace in your heart when you develop a relationship with God and it makes you want to shre it with others.

First you need to meet GOd.the bible says that jesus christ is the way the life & the truth & no man can come to the father except by him.All that means is you have to admit that your a sinner that you'v e fallen short of the glory of god.We all are sinners I don't care who you are,which god knows cause he see us on the toilet!!Jesus with out any PAYMENT of WORKS or any reason said hey your gonna screw up so I'm gonna send my son in your place to take the punishment that YOU deserve for your sins except loved us so much he couldn't bear the thought of losing us to an internity of hell.He said (jesus said)come unto me all who are hurting,upset,stressed out & I will give you rest .So Jesus died on the cross for punishment & was sent to hell but then rose agian Hes' god he can do that.That's why they say he's Alive.Like if you were sentenced to the death penalty for your crime, & Jesus steps in & says hey i'm gonna do the electric shock thingy for him,I know he messed up & he's might not even be thankful or learn his lesson but I love him,so take me instead.This is grace.Forgiving when some one doesn't deserve it.Giving.it's a gift.Afree gift he already paid the price all you have to do is admit it.Something like" OKAY SO your GOd hey I'm sorry thanks for dieing for me & if your real show me & he will." YOu don't have toDO anything but that &you could worship him by reading a couple of his books, like the bible,but that's just getting to know who your talking to,ya know.Put a face to the name.That's it.HOPE i helped & didn't confuse you.

To answer right off, YOU CAN ONLY WORSHIP GOD thru the acceptance of JESUS CHRIST. HE tells us that no one can get to the Father (GOD) except through ME. It is not our duty to try and do something "good" so that GOD will bless us. HE only asks that we CHOSE to Love HIM without being coaxed by anyone or anything.
GOD does not need us, but we surely need HIM. HE has given us free will to decide which spirit we will follow-- that of GOD, or that of satan. There is no in-between or grey area to claim.

Tyler, your first responsibility in trying to connect with GOD, is to accept and admit (from your heart, not superficially) that JESUS CHRIST is the Son of GOD... and that HE died for yours and all other people (past and future) sins.

I know this sounds so cliche' and over used, but it is the bareback truth. Only then will you be able to communicate with GOD, thru JESUS CHRIST. While I am here, let me tell you that anytime you pray to GOD-- whether to thank HIM or to ask for anything, even forgiveness, you must end those petitions with the tag... "in JESUS name", "in the name of JESUS", or any of the endings asking in JESUS name. The reason being is that GOD will and can not associate HIMSELF with a sinful soul (which we all are because of Adam's fall), therefore we need JESUS to pass our prayers on to The Heavenly FATHER.

Tyler, it tells me that by entertaining this thought, you are wanting a relationship with our GOD. Do not allow anyone to sway you from taking a stand for JESUS. They are not the ones who created you. However, they are the ones whom satan is using and will continue to use to deny the truth. Loving GOD is not lame, nor is it boring. It is just the opposite. Once you decide on HIM, and try to follow HIS commandments (not just the ten) and realize that you cannot keep a perfect record in doing so (as everyone in existence can't)... then you will know that asking HIM to forgive you along with repentence (trying not to do that sin again... but if you do, don't let satan tell you you have failed and that GOD does not love you... which is one of his big lies), you will find out that GOD is LOVE. HE has unconditional love for all. No matter if you claimed to be agnostic or wiccan, HE hates the sinful nature, but HE will always love you no matter what. Don't be afraid to ask JESUS to come into your heart, 'cause if you do in heartfelt truth, HE will do so, because HE is right with you at all times reaching for you to say "take my life LORD, and show me what I need to do".
