Yes, but... your notion of past and present may be irrelevent. Time is not constant. We know this from Einstein's theory of relativity. Who know's what kinds if other dimensions there are. I think we all just need to keep an open mind.

No, only God is infinite (or without a beginning or end). Time has a beginning and end. So no, the past is not growing. Genesis 1:1 says "In the beginning God created the heavens and earth" etc, then it goes on to say that he placed the sun and the moon to govern day and night, in other words, showing the rotation of the earth. Things that rotate take time to rotate, so this is when time was created. Time was not necessary until God created life. The counting of time is for the benefit of God's creatures, not for God Himself. He is the one who inhabits eternity, who's very nature is Holiness.

In this case, think of time as a VHS tape. We're on the tape, unable to see what came before us or what is about to happen to us. Here's the big difference...God MADE the tape. (This isn't to say that our fate is sealed and we have no free will, but that God already knows the outcome, since He can scan ahead or back as He sees fit.) He isn't bound by the rules of the tape, because He isn't really on it, but outside it. Time is a construct necessary only to a physical universe, but is irrelevant to the Spiritual realm.
God has no beginning and no end as we (with our subjective concept of time) can comprehend them. Even if He had a beginning, since time did not yet exist He could expand outward in any and every direction at once, making that beginning impossible to locate.
Have fun wrapping your mind around that one!

no the past wouldnt grow (as in create further back in time ?) i;ve never heard of this theory, intresting though ... and if u have more information on an expanding past, please do post
suppost he always was and everthing is ether everything goes back to the whole and as you said back to the begining where a new future awaits or otherwise
even with time travel gen relative wormholes and all that good stuff ... u can travel back but u cant extend the past....
or maybe we all just die
haha

Huh? It's a shame Einstein's not alive to help you with this reasoning. But if your theory happens to be reality, then there is no beginning or end of time...thus no worrying about the future and an Afterlife...thus GO AHEAD AND PARTY HARDY, DUDE!

I hear what you are saying, but I would just be speculating on things I have no clue about. We know nothing of time before sin, or after sin. Perhaps sin is the only thing that causes time to exist. When sin began, the clock started ticking. It will continue ticking until sin is gone, when it is gone, so is the clock. Our scope is so limited because all we know is time, so we try to place all of eternity inside of it, which is foolish.

What you seem to be missing is that God exists outside of the dimension of time and that time had it's beginning when the universe was created.

God made the dimension of time as a physical dimension. He exists in what we know to be the past, the present and the future, all rolled into one.
We think in terms of "was", "is", and "will be". God even called Himself "I AM". He always "IS".

I don't know, but if we knew everything about God and how he worked he really wouldn't be much of a God. To tell you the truth, if my 3 pounds of brain could understand all that he is and we are, and life is...God wouldn't be so all powerful.

LOL!! All this circular logic to get through to these people is making my head spin. I have seen too many atheists evolve into christians just trying to ask questions on here. I am guilty of it too. talking in riddles to be understood. I've got to find myself a hobby. Get out man while you still have a brain.
