Well, I suggest you stop praying....that way you can make sure it will never work for you.

However, I have seen so many miracles as an answer to prayer that I cannot deny it.

It would behoove those who study prayer and attempt to measure it's effectiveness, to first understand it's purpose, how it should be properly done, and also by and with whom.

In this, they have utterly failed, and so have you.

The Catholic Church maintains a sacred deposit of some of the most effective and significant prayers known to man, many of which have never been widely circulated in public, going all the way back to Jesus Christ and the apostles.

The Catholic Church also possesses the authentic power of God. When the official Church prays, Jesus Christ prays, and God the Father has promised to always listen.

The history of the Church is truly a history of prayer, with numerous historical miracles, on a grand scale, and millions of "little" ones, thoughout the ages.

Considering the fact that the Catholic Church has been around for some 2,000 years now, and has numerous, powerful, and mortal enemies in places all around the globe, the continued existence of the Catholic Church is proof enough that prayer is effective.

United with the true and authentic Church, anyone who chooses to give God thanks and praise, to properly apologize to God for their sins, to respectfully request what they need, and then, firmly believe that they will receive, from God's abundant and infinite supply, is not likely to be left empty-handed.

OK - and there are just as many articles out there that say that it is 1. effective and even more stating that it is 2. a psychological effect, based on a feeling of being loved, cared for and general well being. And those emotions help speed the healing process.

That's a long time medical fact -that state of mind of the patient affects the time it takes to heal.

So if prayer helps that person feel good about themselves, what skin is it off their nose if they pray and their friends pray for them? Is it going to affect your lifestyle, the cost of living, how many tens of dollars you have to pay for as this week? Nope.

Maybe YOU need to get over it Worry more about your own crap before you're getting into other's crap.

BTW? I'm not Christian, but I don't deny someone the right to pass positive thoughts my way

OK, this is it all sides are right on this one!! Prayer does work, but sometimes it does not work!! Prayer is nothing more than using ones energy or intent to transmit ones desires and wishes! In order for prayer to work the energy of the cosmos has to be in sink with the person or persons praying! When prayers are unanswered there is poor reception, a thunder storm or something!! It is all that simple , so stop fighting about this!!!!

Showing articles doesn't mean prayer doesn't work. Unless you have sat in on every person's prayers and then followed up on them and found out that none were answered how can you possibly convince people. It's ridiculous. I have had many prayers answered and so have many people I know. Maybe your prayers aren't answered because you don't believe they will be and therefore have no faith. God isn't going to answer a prayer just to prove a point. He answers prayers if we humbly come to Him and truly believe He will. The odds are against you in proving that prayer doesn't work.

Prayer is of another realm. Science will never understand it since it is within the realm of faith of which they are not. Prayer is a function of our spirit which fellowships with God who is Spirit. Even as believers we do not always know what we should pray for as we should and the Spirit prayers on our behalf with groanings which cannot be uttered. Prayer is effective to those who know the word and exericise faith and trust in the Lord to carry out what He has already " willed " in the heavens. Prayer is believers standing in Oneness on the earth giving the Lord the means to carry out His purpose.
Its not for the skeptical or analytical. Its within the realm of the spiritual and i'm sorry.. but science will never be able to tap into this realm with the mere mind... they need to have their spirits regenerated and be born of God to fully be ushered in.

Why do you care? What? Because you found someone whodisagrees with doctors and nurses? You have the other side of the thing to discover. Either that or you don't really care.

Since prayer is an appeal to God, which can be denied at His discretion, how is it that your "evidence" proves anything?
