Ummm contrary to popular belief, green phlegm is not a sure sign of bacterial infection. It could, and dare I say it, probably is, a viral thing.

This type of infection cannot be treated with an antibiotic. Doing so whenever this kind of infection crops up leads to long term resistance to antibiotics, so it ain't a good idea. If it is a bacterial infection, antibiotics might work, but I would advice you not to take them unless you really do feel unbearably unwell.

As it happens I have same thing myself at the mo, so I sympathise! Best thing to do is drinks lots of water, pop some painkillers and sit it out.

Antibiotics are for when you get really sick, i.e. require quite urgent treatment. I suspect your doctor will advise you the same. Check this wee linky
