The "Jesus overruled God" is a ploy they use in their answers and refutations--until it is more to their need to use the Ten Commandments in an answer or refutation.

PLEASE, ,,Jesus fullfilled the Law and the prophets! I am really sad that someone must have told you that, for I know that if you read the Bible you would learn Gon sent him here to repurchase us with his BLOOD, i.e. His death burial and resurrection. The prophet Isaiah wroteof Him. Is.chp.53 foretold it. BUT fullfilling the LAW did not mean we can MURDER, STEAL, LIE ETC. This was NOT taught that we CAN. It will not be found in ALL of the new testament. So then it must be in the ceremonial laws&sacrifices of the O.T. NOT the way we live for CHRIST. one thing Jesus said is BEHOLD I HAVE COME TO DOYOUR WILL,O GOD. so you see.he COULD NOT overrule that one he calls HIS GOD! But if ANY one is able to live the LAW there would never have been a reason for John 3:16 AND SO MUCH MORE. Now you must understand Heb.chr 1:1-9 and here you will read that YHWH, God the Father declared to the son....GOD yet pay attn.to vs 4, also that God still declares that he IS Jesus' God, and Jesus does
call, The Father GOD You see, if all who name Jesus Lord and saviour would keep his command to LOVE one another, keep their hearts on Him I just know they willNOT be disappointed

Good question. You have revealed one of the many anomolies concerning why on earth the Old Testament is "bolted on" to the alleged writings of Jesus and the self promoting scriptures of Paul of Tarsus.

Jesus founded the Nazarenes, also known as the Gnostics.
http://one-faith-of-god.org/new_testament/apocrypha/nazarenes/nazarenes_0010.htm

+ The Nazarene/Gnostics believed the God of the Old Testament - the "jealous god", the "vengeful god" was actually satan pretending to be god.

+ Furthermore, Jesus was the first spiritual leader in Jewish history since the Persians in 600 BCE and 450 BCE to call the Sadducee High Priests to account for being satanists and child sacrificers hiding behind the robes of piety and holiness.

+ The Gnostics and Essenes always believed the Old Testament stories were pure fiction created by Jeremiah, Baruch, Nehemiah and Ezra to get the ancient Israelites to stop worshipping satan. In fact, one of the most sacred of Essene objects, the copper scroll is on display in Jerusalem today and holds the cryptic message "Akhenaten is also Zadok" in Greek.
http://one-faith-of-god.org/old_testament/sources/copper_scroll/copper_scroll_0010.htm

+ In response, the Sadducee High Priests commanded Paul of Tarsus firstly to find and kill Jesus and his apostles and then later to create a counter movement called christianity.

+ So if one was to follow the true teachings of Jesus then no one should follow the Old Testament.

He did not overrule all old testament laws, and he did not overrule god, as he is God in the form of the son. Because Jesus was a sacrifice for our sins, we basically were able to drop some of the laws, practises and rituals that had to be followed in order to have forgiveness for our sins, because Jesus then became the sacrificial lamb instead, therefore a lot of the laws governing the religious rituals of those days were left behind

Because breaking these commandments would still be a sin. The only old testament laws that no longer apply are for example--people can worship God directly because jesus was the last sacrafice so the old law which applied to animal sacrafice no longer was necessary

All of the law applies, but Christians will not be judged by it. The "Ten Commandments" were just a subset of the 613 laws found in the Old Testament. When you live by faith, the law is no longer important as much as living by faith and reading the Word. We grow as Christians by following the laws, but we are not bound by it the way Jews are. We are no longer slaves to the law. The heart of the law is this, the law that summarizes it all:
Love God above all others and love your neighbor as you love yourself.

First of all Jesus did not overrule God- He is God- and He came to fulfill the OT law and the prophets. Jesus came so that we can be forgiven for not following His laws. Jesus died so that we might live with Him forever- however that does not mean that we can live anyway we chose because we are forgiven and go to heaven- that is cheap grace- We are dead to sin since Christ died- we will fall, however we are to live lives that please God- and the 10 commandments fulfill the whole law of Christ- and you know what that is-
LOVE THE LORD WITH ALL YOU HEART, MIND, SOUL AND STRENGTH- AND LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF-

Who says they still apply? Paul said that we are no longer in bondage to the Law because we could never perfectly uphold it. Yeah, the first comment is correct - love God and love your neighbors. If you take those to heart, then you won't violate anything that is written in the Ten Commandments. Sort of a Cliff's Notes for how to behave.

Jesus is God. The 10 Commandments still apply because Jesus said so. If you love me keep my commandments.
