Ok, so from what I've read and what information I've been given a dog's stomach is supposed to drop during some stage of the labor. Will she look slightly thinner during with part of the labor?

Here are a couple of sites that you might find very helpful. The chihuahua loing one is great for anyone raising chihuahua babies.

The puppies will drop about the last week and when they drop that is when they look thinner. Not during the ;abor but before.

Regarding c-sections, they are quite common with the chihuahua breed so be prepared. We recently had one done for about $1200 too. That is quite expensive.

My chihuahua just gave birth to four puppies a month ago and her stomach never dropped. She went into labor and didn't start looking thinner until two of them were out of her. She did show labor signs, discharge, heavy breathing, looking for a private spot. But her stomach never dropped.

I had 2 litters from a chihuahua who actually is sitting here beside me. She will not look thin until the babies start coming out. She will then look like a skeleton. My dog had 5 puppies and the last one got stuck. It cost $1,200 bucks to get the puppy out and they did a hysterectomy. She had dystocia. Hope it dont happen to you.
Best thing to do is put her in an area alone, so she can hae her babies, If you are hanging around like they do on animal planet, it will make her nervous and she will be slower at delivery.
