Kasey C may have a flag that says "top contributor" on his avatar, but he obviously doesn't know anything about the military and what it takes to become an Air Force pilot.
If your goal is to become a commercial pilot, then check out one of several state run universities that offer pilot training... Two of the best are the University of North Dakota ( http://flightops.aero.und.edu/index.asp ), and Southern Illinois University ( http://www.aviation.siu.edu/flight/ ). Yes, there are scholarships available. Talk to a college counselor for more info.

Besides joining the military, many young adults learn how to fly by working side jobs, washing airplanes for owner in exchange for flight lessons, joining the Civil Air Patrol. There are scholarships at several universities that offer aviation programs. Most known include the WIA (Women in aviation), AOPA (Aircraft owner and pilot association).

It's called "the air force", in general. :) Join that, train to be a pilot of transport planes or bombers until you finish your terms, and voila, you're a certified transport pilot ready for the civilian sector. All courtesy of the government.

nothing is free....and if it is it just inst worth anything......I'm a pilot and i worked damn hard to get there...i now do alot of the hiring for my company...and if i found out someone got it for free i would never hire them......In the piloting world...paying your dues ranks VERY highly.
