And on the other hand what should your reaction be?

Just curious if anyone knows.

Good manners is essentially about making people feel comfortable and welcome. All the airs and graces in the world do not mean you have good manners if your guests feel awkward or uncomfortable.

The Queen would, I hope, be polite enough to ignore any involuntary or nervous behaviour like burping, farting or knocking a glass of red wine over.

If it was ongoing, she might ~ like any good host ~ ask after your health and try to make you fel less self conscious.

If your behaviour was deliberate, and making other guests feel uncomfortable, I have little doubt she could handle that, too.

After all, her job is to do these things and by all accounts she is a very reliable and capable person, but she is still a person and has probably burped inappropriately once or twice in her life, also!

While I don't know what her reaction would be for certain (would anyone really?)

But I think that anyone who is well mannered would do the same thing...pretend it didn't happen.

Whether you are the Queen or not, manners were created to make society a nicer, more considerate place to be in.

You would pretend it didn't happen, because you wouldn't want to make the "burper" more embarassed than they already probably are.

If the Queen can Knight "SIR Ozzy Osbourne, I'm pretty sure she'd get over it pretty quickly:) Plus isn't it a compliment to the food in some countries? So, if she was upset, you could just say, 'I'm sorry Queeny, I thought I was in a different country:) Plus lets face it...The Queen is almost as old as dirt, so I doubt she would even hear it! Hee Hee:)

This has handed off to me two times, the two cases jointly as i replaced into at artwork and on the telephone with a customer! How embarrassing! thankfully, they have been waiting to snort it off.

The Queen is a human being ... if you looked extremely embarrassed and said "excuse me", she would probably smile or even wink at you.
