I not trying to sound like I don't respect my civil duty. But I need to work. I just hope it doesn't go past three in the afternoon. So how long is a typical day? Thanks.

I mean I am not in need for money. Just need it to help my family a bit. But this is my first time. So I was wondering if I work at 3 on Tuesday. But stay till 5 at the Court. Do I get paid for the two hours? Also if I am part-time. But working 45 hours. Do I get paid part-time, 30 hours, or full time hours pay?

it depends on your trails but if you cant afford it tell them you cant when you go in and they will most likely let you go depending on your states statutes on pay per day don't lie though and the judge on the trail will have to call the day but usually until about 6 he or she will want to eat

If you are called to sit on a jury you will have to spend at most an 8 hour day, and remain on the jury till the end of the trial! Some trials can last days, weeks!! Some cases require the Jury to be sequestered , which means you would have to be locked up in a motel room or something till the trial is over! If you miss work and for transportation you will be compensated.

This depends on the rules of your state, contact the jury commissioner for specifics. Some states have you server for a fixed time, some you serve for one trial, some is one day or one trial.

In Massachusetts you serve one day or one trail and then you can still be called but don't have to report for three years for the date of service.

it depends on what the person is being charged for and how many witnesses their are. it could last only about 6 hrs to days. i was on a jury once and it only lasted about 6 hours. But not all are like that.

For as long as the trial.

But you have to go in to see if you will be picked. Then they give you a date for when the trial will start. It's a pain.
