Well, am proud to be a FILIPINO. Yes, we do have christian religion there. However, we do have Muslim, Buddhism.... The most annoying for me is the Filipino who is trying to be a ghetto kid. Also, those kids who pretend they do not know how to speak our national language, they just been here few years some of them less than 4 years and they grow up in MANILA.

The country is called Philippines or The Philippines or The Republic of the Philippines. It is used to be known as The Philippine Islands. I know it is sometimes confusing for people who have no prior knowledge of the country or its people. The country is not called Filipinos, it is the people who are called Filipinos. Filipinas is also sometimes used to connote the female population but that will get you more confused because the country in the vernacular is called Pilipinas (with a P). Hope that helps. Send me an email for any other related question.

Actually the majority of the country are Catholics. They are like every other country ...there are good ones and bad ones but for the most part they are wonderful people, very family oriented, very caring and considerate and great cooks.
It is very humid there as it is a tropical climate, they do not have daylight savings and it is dark by 6pm every night of the year.
The govt is a tad corrupt to put it mildly, and from what I hear the people are either very poor or very educated, no middle class it seems... not the safest place to live that is for sure

Well, I'm a Filipino. And of course, this is a very generalizing question. All filipinos are different, so you can't really say whether you like or dislike them. However, the ones that annoy me are the ones that try to be all ghetto.

The only Filipino I know personally is one of my Spanish teachers from last semester. She was kind of scatterbrained, but so was my high school Spanish teacher. It might be a side-effect of being a Spanish teacher.
I hope it doesn't happen to me when I'm one. ;-)
