The KA-24 engine lasts a long time however overheat it once and it will start using oil. Burning oil will destroy the emission controls. Is your 13 year old car is going to be reliable enough for that pay check? Or do you worry and wonder if you are going to make it to work? Did you just spend $400 on a distributor and more on tires and tune up? Do you get a feeling of pride when you see yourself in this car? Answer No to any of the above IT IS NEW CAR TIME. Besides the new Altima is safer and gets better gas mileage

Well there are many factors that play into when oil should be changed. My guess is that your owners manual will say every 3,000 miles or 3 months, whichever comes first. So if you are an average driver and your not driving through really dirty places, you should follow that. Oil lasts a lot longer than people think also, so don't be worried if you miss an oil change by a couple hundred miles or a few weeks.

That means your valve cover gaskets are leaking, or maybe there is a leak somewhere, thats why you have to keep filling it with oil. Oil NEVER goes down, you have to replace it not fill it up. Get it checked asap, you might end up destroying your motor. You are also headed for major repairs, goodluck.

if your engine is this bad, you should be checking the oil everyday, and get the engine repaired or replaced
