Hair grows on average 1-2 inches per month. Your hair is always, always growing. If you are not seeing the progression there may be several factors that may be causing this problem. Make sure that you are getting your ends trimmed on a regular basis. If you have chemicals such as color, perm, relaxer, etc. make sure that you are properly conditioning the hair.
A healthy diet may also help improve the growth of the hair. Omega-3 Fatty Acid tablets are excellent for hair, skin and nails! You can also try vitamins called "Hair, Skin and Nails" which can be found in your local drug store or GNC.

It took me about a year and a half to grow mine out to my bra line. It started out at my shoulders. It depends on the person though. Just make sure you get it trimmed ever month/month and a half. It helps it grow AND not look like crap. Another way to keep it looking healthy is to put a lot of layers in it. The top part of your hair is going to get more damaged than the hair underneath because of sun damage and other things. So if you layer it well it will keep the top part cut and healthy and you can grow the bottom part out more. That is what I do and I always get compliments on it. You should try to find a shampoo and conditioner that has sunscreen, too. The more healthy you can keep your hair... the easier it will be to grow it out without it looking bad. Good luck and just be patient.

The first step to growing long, beautiful hair is by far the most important.
It is absolutely non negotiable for anyone who wants healthy hair at any length, but it is also by far the hardest step you will have to follow.
In order to have long healthy hair you absolutely have to start with healthy hair.
You must cut off every inch that is damaged. If you are going for extreme length, from that point on you will have to treat your hair like delicate, antique lace at all times.
Remember, once your hair is at your waist the ends can be as many as six years old.
Your hair will go through a lot of trauma in six years no matter how careful you are with it.
You *must* start out with healthy hair to have healthy hair when it's long, there's no way around it.

Of course you can wait, as so many other people have clearly (and somewhat rudely) pointed out to you, but I my only advice is to maintain healthy hair and take some vitamins. Maintain healthy hair by getting your dead ends trimmed every few months or so. There are also hair strengthening shampoos you can buy at your local wal-mart or whatever store you choose, or you can go to beauty salons and get some shampoo for your specific hair type to keep it strong and healthy. If you choose to go to a salon, keep in mind their products are usually a bit pricey sometimes. Another option is to take prenatal vitamins or Vita men E. Prenatal vitamins aren't intending for pregnant ladies only, they are good for women in general. The bonus, they make your hair grow much faster than normal, as well as your nails.
Hope I helped & good luck! I'm in the process of trying to grow mine out, too. =]

Get regular trims (every 6-8 weeks). If you don't get your dead ends off they can split higher up on your hair shaft, resulting in you having to cut more hair off the next time you go in for a cut. Also, try to cut down on your heat styling and eat foods that are high in protein.

The only way to 'help' it grow is to wash and style it as less as possible.
I used to have hair half way down my back and the only way it got there and stayed really, really healthy was by washing/straightening it once a week. I recently got it cut, and I completely regret it. Now it is layered, short and choppy and basically f******* disgusting. But, in order to get it back to how I had it, I am still only washing it twice a week.

there is no quick fix to getting long hair...but lots of things you can do to encourage growth...you can trim the ends to make sure it looks and stays healthy...drink alot of water...and you should also try to eat alot of protein and fatty acids, like in fish and nuts...and you can take multivitamins...you should massage your scalp when you condition it, and you can use a conditioning mask a few times a week...also, make sure that you COMB your wet hair and don't pull when you brush dry hair--this causes breakage...

hope this helps---i am a fanatic about keeping my hair healthy and get compliments all the time...good luck!

There's only two ways:

Get a wig.
Or grow out your hair.
Of course, it depends on long your hair grows.
It grows about an inch or two every month.

Just trim your hair every six weeks to cut the dead ends off so that your hair will have the chance to grow.... It takes a while to achieve a long healthy length... but all you have to do is make sure you get those dead ends off regularly so that your hair will grow and not look awful!

good luck!
