Well, Michelle because I used to be a christian and after looking at different perspectives-islam, buddism, hinduism, new age, etc, it was evident that chrisitanity was a crock of s***-and islam. Buddishm and Hinduism and even Taoism makes more sense than christianity

Brainwashing. That's what it is. Years and years of ingrained brainwashing.

Okay, now this may sound absolutely STUPID to YOU (of course)... but ...
Why reinvent the wheel? Others have already "thought through" this Christianity thing (CS Lewis, for one) and have concluded that the Christianity "thing" is THE REAL thing. So, if I respect those who have done the thinking, then I also respect (and accept) their conclusions.
For myself, it was my parents. YOU may call it brainwashing, I call it raising up a child in the faith. Just to ease your mind, however, they always allowed me the choice of accepting or rejecting that faith. But I could see first hand the wonderful love and fulfillment their faiths gave them, so how could I not want that same peace for myself?
You might compare it to Darwin or Einstein. They did all the "thinking it out" part, you chose to accept or reject their conclusions. Why must you reinvent the Theory of Relativity or Evolution?
Have I thought about looking at life through more than one perspective? Yes, but I have concluded that the "perspective" which agrees and fulfills my spiritual life is that of Christianity.
What makes me think Christianity is right and all others are wrong? The precepts of the religion teach this. Besides, if we don't accept our religion as "the" religion, then that negates our "sticking TO" our religion... we'd be all OVER the place, hop-skipping and jumping from one religion to another. That's why, when we choose our "one" religion as "THE" religion that we then reject all other religions as the wrong ones.
Does that mean that OTHERS can choose their own religion... sure... but for us, this is THE one... and even if you don't agree, THAT ONE religion also tells us that all other religions are WRONG... period. Like it or not... accept it or not... in OUR eyes, this is correct.
Go ahead and disagree with us, but sooner or later our religion tells us that you will also learn the truth of this... that our religion is THE religion.... and that by that time, it will be too late for you to change your mind. Again, you don't accept that idea, but our religion tells us that is and will be the case.
Thanks for "hearing me out."

The basic tenets of Christianity are often lost in all the inane arguing.
Christians:
Love God with all their heart, all their soul, all their mind, and all their strength.
Love their neighbor as themselves.
Love one another as Jesus loved them.
1st Corinthians Chapter 13 gives you a good explanation of Christian or Godly love (agape in Greek).
Jesus told us that you would know the followers of "The Way" (first called Christians at Antioch) by their love.
Christian love is not a mere emotion or feeling, it is an action.
Given all of this, what other perspective makes more sense? Christianity is a simple belief that God is love, that we can love because he first loved us, and that we were made to love him and each other.
How can following this practice be wrong? God bless you in your Bible studies, my friend and in your life.

I have no need to look at life from any other perspective. I have found truth in Jesus Christ. Without him I would have never survived the many trials in my life. I'm not willing to even consider giving that up.

b/c other religions are based on people.for example any buddy can be budda he was a prince that became spiritual with all these fancy says and things why would i believe in a person that can't create life how would explain the creation of man we don't just go poof here is one person. one person takes a lot of time to create so i believe someone crated me and knows me inside and out and God's Word has tested the age of time every thing God Said has come true.

Because I tried to look through all the perspectives that I could find and Christianity is the only logical one that shows us God's unconditional love and sacrifice.

Try reading St. Augustines, "confessions".....
Been there, done that, bought the book.....
Christianity is the only way to go.
Question back at ya: Why do you assume that Chrisitans have NOT looked at life through more than one perspective???

because in my heart of hearts I know Jesus now abides in me. There is no way possible this kind of transformation could have been done without Christ. I now have peace where as before there was turmoil, love where there was hate, joy where there was sadness and much more. I hope for you that you to will experience these things very soon. :)

No, the only way is through the Bible, the Word of God. Christianity as taught by Jesus and Him alone, is the only way. No religion made by man, in my opinion, is worth trying or losing my home in Heaven for.

I spent most of my life examining, studying, and living other philosophies and religions. Christianity is the only one that worked, that changed me, and makes sense from a logical and historical background.

I have, many times, tried to live by them too. However, I never had the peace I had when I was walking with God. Those years that I left Him, I was the most miserable person. I tried other faiths, other beliefs and nothing satisified my heart. When I finally came back to Christ, my heart was healed, my peace restored and my questions answered. Thats why I know in my heart its true.
