What is so hard about mass deportion of illegals when you find them? This is AMERICA, we can do anything we set our minds to right. Its just a bus ride to the border right? Here's what I propose:

1. Enforce the existing immigration AND criminal laws, especially the aiding and abedding laws for businesses, and "safe haven" cities and churchs.

2. Immeadiately make all anchor babies under the age of 15 non U.S. citizens so they can be deported along with their parents, thus solving the "breaking apart of families" argument.

3. Pass a federal law similar the ones in Hazelton, PA, and San Bernadino, CA, and make it a crime to rent to illegals anywhere in the country.

4. Put all the men displaced by illegals (like construction workers) to work as deportation agents, and let them start rounding up the illegals and getting them back accross the border so they can come into the country the correct and LEGAL way.

What do you think? No hate speech please.

Unlawful Entry is a CRIME. Zero tolerance for immigration-law violators! No amnesty, no "stealth-amnesty." No "change of status," marriage fraud, "exceptional leave to remain," no "Temporary Protected Status." If you break the law, depart or be deported. Illegal aliens kill more US citizens each year than the war in Iraq has killed in four years. Apologists for illegal immigration like to paint it as a victimless crime. But in fact, illegal immigration causes substantial harm to American citizens and legal immigrants, particularly those in the most vulnerable sectors of our population--the poor, minorities, and children. Additionally, job competition by waves of illegal immigrants willing to work at substandard wages and working conditions depresses the wages of American workers, hitting hardest at minority workers and those without high school degrees. Illegal immigration also contributes to the dramatic population growth overwhelming communities across America--crowding school classrooms, consuming already limited affordable housing, and straining precious natural resources like water, energy, and forestland. Taxpayers are being forced to pay for the free health care, education, and other welfare programs being given to illegal aliens; Those tax dollars could be given back to U.S. taxpayers or used to keep our borders secure; They may be here illegally, but they sure know how to "work the system" to collect "free" medical care, "free" education, "free" food, Section 8 housing vouchers and other housing assistance, and hundreds of other social services. It costs citizens additional hundreds of billions of tax dollars at every level: local, state, and federal. It gobbles up billions of our charitable contributions. And much of that money ends up siphoned out of our economy and into offshore accounts. Illegal aliens, over half of whom work "under the table" with neither job nor income reported (nor taxed), are not counted as employed or unemployed. But some of those day-labor and off-the-books "job-lets" would be "real" jobs - available to American citizen job-seekers - if employment regulations were enforced. Illegal aliens can get away with tax evasion, et al., which citizens cannot. In short, we have too many workforce entrants and too few jobs created. The ratio works out to roughly 7-10 workforce entrants per job created. If all illegal aliens depart or are deported, all legal immigration halted, and all temporary employment visas abolished, we still have a problem with more US-born workforce entrants than new jobs created. Illegal immigration damages our country and our citizens every day at every level. And not even the attacks of 2/26 and 9/11 have awakened many Americans to the vast dangers illegal immigration poses to our selves, our families, our communities, our society, our values, our principles, our civilization. Zero Tolerance for Immigration-Law Violators! We must remember the lessons of 2/26, 9/11, and the costs we bear every single day. God Bless the U S A !

In theory it sounds great, but practically speaking, it is not possible....Too much legal red tape and too costly....Its much more than just a bus ride....They have to appear in court and show citizenship or status, then if they can't, they have to get detained until they will be shipped out....What if they appeal their judgement? How many judges and courts will we need to set up for this, and how expensive will it be? Courts are already back logged, so it would have to be a special court just solely for this purpose....Where would this court be located? On the borders? Perhaps, but image 12 million people, thrown in the court systems? Where would we even begin to find these illegals, remember they live in the shadows, they don't have an identity we can just find......As far as detention, these are also over crowded with illegals waiting to be deported....Its not so easy as one might think....

Well, what I think would take several pages of text. Let me condense it by saying that it is the silliest effort I've seen in a while. First, restraining orders were issued in October against the city preventing them from enforcing the statues. Secondly, the city and the plaintiffs were in Federal court in March, 2007 and a ruling is under decision by the judge as we speak.

It is unconstitutional. Period. In addition, only the Federal government can make immigration laws.

The claims by the city of rising crime, vandalism, etc., has been disproved. The city made claims that could not be supported by statistics or by proof. The requirement to having to buy an "occupancy certificate" before one can rent an apartment has been struck down.

Dispite what you may think or feel, this is America. A child born on American soil is an American.....period. It is a Constitutional guarantee.

And, it is NOT against the law for churches to offer sanctuary. There is a separation of church and state in this country. The church is inviolate. That's what churches DO - all over the world; offer safe haven for the opressed.

Cities and towns make their own laws and as long as the law passed doesn't contradict Federal Law, it is the city governments right to pass them. If a city wants to be a "safe haven", it is their Constitutional right to enact laws stating such.

I think you are out of touch a bit with your "construction worker" idea. Most immigrants who come to this country, legally or illegally, perform the coolie jobs that our folks won't do. They clean toilets, work as chambermaids, landscapers, work in landfills, do the stoop labor in the agricultural fields... Very, very few work in construction and those who do are not skilled construction workers but rather laborers and are paid accordingly.

I agree with you the the immigration laws already on the books must be enforced. The best way to slow down illegal immigration is to penalize the companies that hire them. It is against the law to hire an undocumented worker in our country. But, guess what?

The government has only "winked" at the practice. Why? Because big business, agribusiness, farmers and other LIKE the cheap labor and the government turns it's face away. It has been this way for 60 years. These millions of people didn't just show up in the last couple of years. If the Department of State started going into non-union worksites and doing sweeps, asking for employee records, tax records, payroll records...then arresting the owners and managers, putting them on trial and imposing huge fines, it would STOP. If an employer knew that his business was at risk, he wouldn't hire the cheap labor.

I am retired now but had worked in my industry for 32 years. The last job I applied for was in 1995. At the time of the interview I was required to bring the following: original birth certificate issued by the state in which I was born; my Social Security card, 4 months of paid utility bills in my name and the name of my bank. Before I was hired, this company checked for the validity of the information. THAT'S HOW IT IS SUPPOSED TO WORK.

If all those profit driven companies out there did what they were supposed to, the illegal immigration problem would almost instantly go away. If there is no work, they won't come.

The last point is this; How do you locate, roundup and deport 13 million people? That is more than the total population of Colorado, Arizona and Nevada - more than the population of the country of Denmark!!!! It is unrealistic to believe this can be done.

There are several sources on the Hazelton lawsuit. If you Google it and look around, you will find the text of the restraining order and transcripts of the trial and any updates.

I would say "OUR" federal government, but since It no longer works for the AMERICAN PEOPLE,I will just say that since "THE" federal government now works exclusively for big business and special interest groups and has absolutely NO allegiance to the AMERICAN PEOPLE,they can pretty much do what ever they want, and that is what you are seeing. Big business wants cheap labor, and since they are ultimately in charge of the Federal Government, they will ultimately get their mass amnesty, unless the REAL AMERICAN PUBLIC rises up and says ENOUGH..... Call, phone, and write your elected officials and let them know of your great displeasure. I do It almost daily. They could arrest and deport the majority of the ILLEGALS at banks,Wells Fargo- Bank of America???,Home depot,Lowes,Wal-mart,hospitals, or just about ANY construction site. They could hold Employers accountable also, but they don't want to.... Our AMERICAN CULTURE Is In serious decline, and everyone just keeps complaining, and doing nothing to help solve the problem.... CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES NOW!!!!!!!!!!

In order for someone to be deported, the country on the receiving end must house them.
Mexico has no such provisions. They go back to Mexico and just wander back over the border again and again.

Not all illegals are from Mexico large volumes of illegals are made up of many countries many of which have a legal claim to be here but inhumane time frames prevent illegal status.

17-24+ years wait is not humane

Wow I wish you were making the laws. See I understand what you're saying, I don't see why people who came here illegally are allowed to stay here and put their kids in school. At my school you're not allowed to say illegal immigrants are doing something wrong or they give you a referral. It's so stupid!

Want to find them and deport them en masse?
Go to Home Depot or Lowes at 0700 - you will be able to round them up by the bus load!

I really like #4 because it is very creative. Thinking outside the box.

But the problem with your solution is that it doesn't stop the flood of illegals over the border. Just like Suze says, they just wander right back over. You have to have a physical barrier that is manned with armed guards and dogs. I know that sounds very "East German" but WTF else are we supposed to do short of Annexing Mexico (which BTW sounds very "Nazi German") lol.
