Yes, there is, but you need to buy an application that is rather expensive. It is called OmniPage Pro by ScanSoft. It can scan documents into the format for most Microsoft Office products, including Excel.

From Microsoft Office Online website:

"ScanSoft's intuitive, user-friendly interface makes scanning simple. You can:

* Scan paper spreadsheets directly into Microsoft Excel.
* Convert documents into Microsoft Word format.
* Switch paper documents into HTML by using Microsoft FrontPage.
* Add paper documents to your Microsoft PowerPoint presentations."

There may be other applications, but if you are specifically looking for scanning spreadsheets directly into Excel, this is the application I recommend.

If your scanner has the capability, you can scan as OCR (optical character recognition) and have the file sent to Excel. You will have to proofread it carefully. A good scanner will convert every pencil mark and squiggle to something!

If you do not get the option to scan to Excel, let it scan to Word. When finished, select the data, copy, then open a new Excel document and paste in cell A1.

You can keep or dump the Word file if all goes well with Excel.

examine the cd of your scanner. each and every scanner comes with an OCR (Optical character popularity) utility. This easily can convert the scanned web site right into a be conscious checklist...OCR utility's are no longer perfect, yet they are good sufficient to get the activity executed. as quickly as switched over to a be conscious record you could fairly lots do something with it.
