I would call this just periodontal disease. You either have bacteria going under you gums and eating away your bone structure. Another thing is your lack of calcium, which milk provides very good. The only way I know how it's treated is having a bonegraph surgery. What they do is cut your gum open, past the root, into the alveolor bone sulcus, then they pack powdered COW bones into your bone, which will eventually grow your bone back. I hope this provided with the best answer.

HELLO KRISTIN,

THE GUM DISEASE WHERE BONE IS GRADUALLY LOST IS CALLED PERIODONTAL DISEASE. WHAT CAUSES BONE LOSS IS AN INFECTION AND CERTAIN CELLS CALLED OSTEOCLASTS EST AWAY THE BONE.
THE TREATMENT FOR THIS DISEASE MAY INVOLVE SURGICAL INTERVENTION TO ELIMINATE BONY DEFECTS AND RID THE TOOTH STRUCTURE OF CALCULUS, AKA, TARTAR. IN THE VERY START OF THE DISEASE NON-SURGICAL TREATMENT LIKE SCALING AND ROOT PLANING CAN EFFECTIVELY TREAT THE DISEASE.
