Well, long distance is more of a fiction than fact. As we are unable to meet or see each other more often, we tend to fantasize everything. Expecting from one another reaches peaks more often. This is more Infactous in nature than meeting one another where we could actually see the person, his/her attire, reactions and much more. Its more of an addiction that grows slowly and this relationship is allways filled with lots of ups and downs.
By nature we don't usually check our selection of words while speaking for long and that creates much misunderstandings.
I would suggest you to somehow meet the person more often for a reality check. Else, one fine day either he/she would stop responding or if after a long wait you guys meet...the realy would be way un-expected than your fantasy.

disadvantage- Im in a long distance relationship or 6 years. It is very hard. For a LDR to work you have the dedication, faith, trust, honesty towards one another.
Advantage- You haven't seen each other for 2-3 months, and when you see each other you cherish every moment you have together-that what makes the relationship stronger. That's only if you are totally serious and have the dedication to make it work.

We dated when he lived here so we had a base to go on. Also, we realize that we are the best of friends that care very much for each other and only want the best for the other person. If either of us meets someone nearby we will be honest.
But to answer the question, duh, we email 4 or 5 nights a week- sometimes sexy ones. We talk a few times a week and save our pennies for plane fare and try every 3 or 4 months to get together.
It works for us and our lifestyles. It's not for everybody!
