Possibly though not always. If it persists then I would definitely take the animal's temperature.
Temperature is best taken with an anal thermometer (taks two people to do this unless the dog is small) and normal temp is around 101.5

Unfortunately this is an old wives tale. A dogs' nose (wet or dry, cold or hot) has nothing to do with it's health. Also keep in mind if you take your pets temp. at home, a dogs average temp is alot higher than a humans, usually around 101-102 degrees. This website will show you how to take temp.

If you are concerned about your pet, call the vet for an exam.

I was told by my vet that a dog's nose is not a good way to tell if it has a fever. Dog's temperatures are hotter than humans. If your dog is showing any other unusual symptoms, it probably does have a fever and should be seen by the vet.

Not necessarily. Aside from the warm, dry nose, is the dog's behavior normal? If everything else seems fine, I would not worry. If the dog is not eating and is just moping around, I would consider taking it to the vet.

Yes, usually it means they are running a fever or a dehydrated and if you give it water and it doesnt get any better i would stringly suggest taking it to the vet. The dog's nose should almost always be cold and wet unless they're sleeping.

Normally they are but not always, some just get a small infection that will go away in just a few days. Give it a few days and if it doesn't seem to clear up then yes it is more than likely running a fever and you would most likely want to get something for it....... best of luck and I hope he/she is getting well!

NO it doesn not mean the dog is sick. This is just an old wives tale. It just means the dogs hasnt licked his nose in a while or the air is so dry that the mositure is evaporating quickly off your dogs nose.

It doesn't mean your dog is sick. My dogs nose is ALWAYS dry, except when he got a bath yesterday. He is completely healthy. It's a myth. But if your really worried about your dog, take it to your vet.
