Last week a guy put his daughter in a microwave, and claims that God told him to do that.

Abraham was told to do the same. (Except for the microwave part. They didn't have microwaves back then, as you might know)

First guy will serve a long time in prison, second guy became a major figure in the most popular religion.

What exactly is the difference between these two men. Can you be absolutely certain that God spoke to Abraham, and not to the dude last week?

Ah, Abraham didn't hurt his child. I guess the little kid went to bed very relaxed that night.

The fact Israel exists today is proof God spoke to Abraham.

Abraham accounted God could raise Isaac from the dead, told Isaac before he offered him that God himself would provide a sacrifice.

But you are not really interested in that are you?

You are more interested in showing how much smarter you are than people of faith

It is a sad way to be, having to build yourself up by tearing down others....

There will never be any difference. Why? Coz God will never order the killing of any child nor an adult. God doesn't kill; that's Satan's job. Instead, God gives life. . .to Satan's ire. God tested Abraham's faith when He asked (not ordered) him to kill his son as a sacrifice.

Many people nowadays have been doing things which they claim are God's promptings. Some even claim that they are the Christ. As normal persons, we should not bother ourselves with what these people are doing. We know what kind of individuals they are, don't we? We should not even entertain their ideologies. Why don't we just focus on things which will help or make us more useful and productive citizens of this country, the USA.

God was testing Abraham's faith.

Abraham had shown great faith for years. God wanted to make a covenant with Abraham that his descendants would be as innumerable as grains of sand and would be given a great land, but he had to test Abraham to ensure Abraham's faith and worthiness to receive the blessings of the Covenant.

God just up and told Abraham to take Isaac up to a certain mountain and sacrifice him to God.

Rather than arguing with God, Abraham set out to do as he was ordered to do.

When Abraham was about to actually sacrifice Isaac, God's messenger stopped him, and declared that because Abraham was willing to obey even the most difficult orders, that his faith was sufficient to be worthy of the Covenant.

Genesis 22 shows the Angel of the Lord quoting God, saying this:

Then the angel of the LORD called to Abraham a second time from heaven, and said, "By Myself I have sworn, declares the LORD, because you have done this thing and have not withheld your son, your only son, indeed I will greatly bless you, and I will greatly multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your seed shall possess the gate of their enemies. In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice."

So, there was never any true intent to harm Isaac. God was testing Abraham's willingness to obey God.

Compare this to the man who claims God told him to kill a child. If that had truly been an order from God, God would have intervened as he did before. Perhaps the man was actually listening to some other voice, claiming to be God.

Also, keep in mind that in people who suffer from some types of Schizophrenia report hearing voices. Many folks attribute these mysterious voices to God. They are not. They are symptoms of a horrible sickness.

God was establishing a theocracy in the middle of a wicked nation. However, He does not ask us to do that because he is not establishing a kingdom on earth. But rest assured that He is coming again, and all the wicked will be stubble, including those who think sinners with their genetically perverted offspring should be saved. If your family does not serve the Lord, you can break that cycle of sin and change the course of your life as well as lead your children to green pastures.

You can't know, unless you know. G-d tested Abraham by telling him to sacrifice his son Issac. This story was put into the bible in part, to show us that we should be able to make the greatest sacrifices for G-d, just as He makes the greatest of sacrifices for us. Anyway, the sacrificing of Isaac didn't happen and G-d provided a ram instead (I believe symbolizes how Jesus was the substitute sacrifice for all mankind to come). It shows us that instead of any of us paying for our own sins, which we cant really do...
G-d paid for our sins Himself. Everyone that ever existed is that important and precious to G-d, that He would give Himself for us to return to Him and not be hindered for even one moment by the separation of sin.

Well, to start,
Abraham did not actually have to kill Isaac.
God was testing Abrahams obedience and his ability to make the ultimate sacrifice.

Gen 22:10-12
And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.

And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.

And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.

Fools. God asked Abraham to kill his son to test his faith. When Abraham was ready to swing the blade of the axe(?) down on his son, God stopped him. God wouldn't allow a child killed! And the devil was working on the mind of that person. Satan has limited powers (only for show because he's always trying to BE God and will come back to this earth soon to pretened again, only in the flesh this time and he will make lightening flash or whatever little piddly thing he can and you fools will believe he *is* God and you'll be *screwed*, just like youre doing NOW. Satan is a liar, pure and simple. He will lie, he will pretend to be Jesus because thats what he always wanted to be. If you knew about Abraham, you know this. Dont let satan fool you...you'll eventually be sorry for it. Be dilligent, my friend.

Abraham's obedience was being tested, as for the latter he is insane.

Abraham heard the voice of God, not b/c he himself told us so, God told us so in the Bible. Remember every word in the Bible is the word of God? The guy in the news told the police he heard a voice ?

Plain and simple: He isn't the first one to use the "God told me to" phrase. Look it up. It has been a popular way of trying to get out of things since early times. Maybe even Abraham........???
