I would say you cannot make things happen simply by believing in them. That's the message in "Peter Pan." Real life is a little more complicated than that.
Case in point: I am currently visiting relatives in Buffalo, New York. Despite all the "believing" (and no doubt plenty of prayer) by hundreds of thousands of people around here, the Buffalo Sabres hockey team was recently eliminated from the playoffs. "Believe!" was one of their mantras. The miracle didn't happen for them. Now what?
"Believing" in things you can control helps a lot. Sabres fans really can't control who's going to win the game. So "believing" is a nice mantra, but it takes more than just belief, and it also takes a certain amount of control in the first place. Unless you're the one stepping onto the ice with the hockey stick in hand, you have no control.
SO: If you want to make "miracles" occur in your life, choose miracles that you actually have some power to make happen. From there, make your choices wisely; make choices that will lead to that "miracle" happening. Most peoples' miracles are either A) pure, stupid luck, or B) a lot of hard work and wise choices eventually leading to a desired outcome.
That's something to believe in!

Sorry, but you cannot create miracles. Only God can. Thinking that you can is mighty pious. However, you can come close...you can do something great and wonderful to change someone elses life for the better, which would make it *seem* like a miracle to the ones you help. But it's still God working through you, so you really cant take credit for it. I'm not quite sure that your heart is in the wrong place...do you want these miracles for yourself? What is your definition of a miracle?

Changing your beliefs is up to you. No one can help you change your beliefs you must do that on your own. but people can give you advise to how to do it. Just sit down and think about what you believe in. developing your beliefs isn't a set-in-stone deal. It's a journey, a learning process. If you believe that if you believe in anything you can make it happen then it will. If you want to create a miracle you have to be confindant in your beliefs. I have a movie to recommend it's called "What the Bleep do we know?" It will literally make you think.

1.) You believe in miracles?
2.) You believe that you can create miracles?
If you believe in something you can make it happen? Wasn't that in Peter Pan? Or was it the Wizard of Oz?
So if you try to make a miracle occur and it *doesn't* occur, what do you blame? Is it your fault because you just don't believe *enough*?

I don't know what kind of miracles you want to make happen, but I can tell you that if you dedicate yourself to helping others, miracles will happen. You will be a miracle to them, and God will honor you by bringing miracles into your life.
Sometimes you have to give up something to accept His miracle, but it is worth it.

You cannot create them. Miracles are the work of God for the unbelievers. And why would you want to create them? Examine your motives.

So very odd that I should run across your question. I just bought "The Secret," which addresses that very question. It's too much to go into here, but I suggest you buy the book (DVD or CD) or borrow it from your library. Best wishes!

You can't change anything.
You can't change just by thinking your height an inch, or just by thinking your hair color
But with God nothing is impossible
A little is a lot if God is in it.
