Buddhism teaches that when a person dies they are reborn and that this process of death and rebirth will continue until Nirvana is attained.

Most religions believe that the core of the person, the real person, is the soul, a non-material and eternal entity that survives in the afterlife. Buddhism on the other hand says that the person is made up of thoughts, feelings and perceptions interacting with the body in a dynamic and constantly changing way. At death this stream of mental energy is re-established in a new body. Thus Buddhism is able to explain the continuity of the individual without recourse to the belief in an "eternal soul", an idea which contradicts the universal truth of impermanence.

because souls learn to recognize one another when they come down again. Think of it. you meet someone and you know them instantly to be your friend. Where did you get that knowledge? Ever feel that feeling that you just have "been there" "done that"
? The oldest souls in the universe belong to the eastern religions. The west is still in it's babyhood. YOu do know that Pope constantine went and wrote out all the scriptures that pertain to reincarnation right?
Think of it this way. Did you tie your shoes the first time the correct way? Of course not. You were given chances to do this. If the Christian god is so loving, he only gives us once chance? Even tho we face brutal hardship and lack of love, etc.?
When you reincarnate in the Eastern religions, you learn that lesson for that life time and then move on to a different one.
think hard on this.
