Yes I feel it is real. I have gone out of my body many times, I don't count when I was asleep because that could be just a dream.
At least 20 times in the last 30 years, all wide awake and sober.
I can not do it at will very successfully but a few times I have.
It is an awesome experience to do, once I was driving to a busy restaurant with friends and "popped" out of my head and was looking for a parking space there, knowing it was usually very busy. I saw one and there it was when I pulled into the parking lot. I had even told my friends with me in the car what I had done and seen before we got to the restaurant, and everyone was surprised that the space was right where I saw it was.
That is only one of many examples I could site, and all when I was sober and fully awake.
I believe we are immortal beings or spirits, not our physical bodies.
Sorry I don't have any websites to send you to but I am sure there are a lot if you do a search on it.

Astral projection is a form of out of body experience that sometimes occurs during lucid dreaming during deep meditation or at times of crisis. The soul moves into an astral body (or "etheric double"), which moves free of the physical body in a parallel world known as the astral plane. Astral Travel is spoken about in may mystical texts and has more recently been studied by scientists investigating reports of people who have has a near death experience.

Astral projection is kind of like very deep meditation. It seems to be more visualization than anything, at least to me. I think the Golden Dawn system teaches a bit about it.

Astral projection is a hallucination. It is "real" in the sense that dreams are real--that is, the brain is registering all stimuli that are fed to it. So to the brain it does seem to actually be happening. But there is most certainly no reason to believe that there is a separate, parallel spirit that actually does leave the body.

Astral projection is another word for "self-delusion" or "hallucination".
People who have a certain type of brain disorder and/or a vivid imagination can experience astral projection. That doesn't mean you have a separate "soul" that can exist independently of your body.
