you have to convert the movies into wmv. this is how

1. open up the video in windows movie maker the one you want to put on a cd.
2. click file, save movie, then click save to hard drive
3. now it is converting.
4. once its done converting find the file you just converted (it should be wmv.) put a blank cd in then you put the wmv. video on the cd and burn.

another reason that its not working is that if you are putting a blank dvd-r in your computer when you dont have a dvd writer in your computer. so put it on a cd-r should work too.

so what to do now convert the video to wmv. then burn to cd-r.

hope it works for ya.

Be sure that you are not trying to burn a DVD movie. For that you'll need a DVD burner.

Try saving the project on a recordable CD or save it for playback on a PC. Then you can copy it to a CD-R with your burner software.

Remember that there's two ways to save files in Movie Maker:
1. As a project (in other words, a work in progress)
2. As a movie (that's where it goes to disk as a finished product)
