Hi there - places that usually hire at your age are grocery stores (bagging), some hardware store like loews home depot and fast food places do sometimes. It doesn't hurt to call but it's better to go in and fill out an app. Don't be scared to go - they want and need help! Also by filling out an app you won't be rejected face to face , and if you call if they aren't looking for anyone you would be. Usually you can find a stand by the door with apps you can grab or go to the help counter. Go for it - and be confident!

Don't worry bout things like that. Knock backs are life. Print yourself up a reference and get people that are willing to back you up and hit the streets. Go everywhere and ask for applications, meet managers, leave your resume. If you meet people face to face rather than ring them it shows good initiative and enthusiasm.
You have all your regular fast food outlets, supermarkets, smaller retail stores.
Some offices like having junior gophers (general dogsbodies) to come in after school to run errands such as mail, photocopying and general tidying up.
Then you can do chores. Let all your neighbours know... mow lawns, wash cars, walk dogs, babysit.
There are a lot of options out there for you. Goodluck

Mowing grass, yard work, walking dogs, delivering newspapers, stocking shelves at the local grocery store, washing cars at a car lot, general labor for neighbors that need help cleaning a basement, babysitting, pet sitting, McDonald's or other fast food. The list goes on and on.

Tough one, many companies won't hire anyone under 18 because the labor laws are so tough. I would check small privately owned businesses or movie theaters, make sure you don't contact anyone that uses any large machines, OSHA usually has age requirements. And in a last effort, cut a few lawns.

I work at a pool as an attedant! It is a great job! I dont have my lifeguard traning. BUt you could also be a lifeguard. The pay is great and it is tons of fun. You get to be with people, be in the sun and go swimming. It is wonderful! Sorry to go on but i love it. Try it! it is better than workin fast food!

babysitting is a great job if your a girl. landscaping help is good if your a guy. or working at some little resturaunt or fast food place. and don't be afraid of rejection, it won't do u any good. if you get rejected then just move on and go to the next thing.

Really depends on what you are good at and like.
When I first got a summer job I just applied at random resturaunts regardless if they had a help wanted sign or not. It worked. I'm now a dishwasher and salad bar girl. :p

Post an ad on Craigslist for babysitting.
Good luck, Mexicans have taken over the smaller jobs in our area.

calling places isn't bad because they don't know who you are and when u go back to the place in person they wont know its u. Oh and u can babysit but i would go with a kid above 5 yrs old and they have to know how to use the bathroom by themselves
