There actually were 3 powertrains for the 2004 Taurus:
- 3.0L OHV Vulcan V-6 Engine
Fuel Type Regular Gasoline
MPG (city) 20
MPG (highway) 27
MPG (combined) 23

- 3.0L DOHC Duratec V-6 Engine
Fuel Type Regular Gasoline
MPG (city) 19
MPG (highway) 26
MPG (combined) 22

- 3.0L OHV Vulcan V-6 Flexible Fuel Vehicle (FFV) Engine
Fuel Type E85 / Gasoline
MPG (city) 15 / 20
MPG (highway) 20 / 27
MPG (combined) 17 / 22
You will be able to tell if this is a FFV two ways:
-8th character of VIN is a "2"
-sticker inside fuel filler door (NOT on gascap-inside DOOR)
