Her nutritionist said that if she continues what she is doing, she will kill herself; without a doubt. She can't do any normal things, even walking up a flight of stairs is a laborious task for her. Her mother talked her into counseling, but she hasn't improved since. If anything, she has only gotten worse. My friend came over a few weeks ago, and had to leave. The sight of my step sister's bones sticking out was too much for her... even though I warned her how bad it was. Her father asked me not to say anything about it, because it is only going to upset her. He thinks that if he lets her do things on her own than she will get better. She isn't going to make any improvments on her own, and if someone doesn't do something I am scared that she is going to die. Everyone is too afraid that talking to her is going to make things worse, but what else can we do? I think she needs to go to a camp or a place that speacializes in caring for people with eating disorders. But no one will step...

Well, if no one's going to stand, speak up, and say something.. who will? What do you think will happen to her if you leave her with her own two feet? Remember, that it was her own decisions that made her what she is right now.

If you can't pierce through her with the facts and what's going to happen, talk to her with your heart. How much you care and love her and how you can't afford to see her dying, that in each second you fear that it all might be gone..

Please.. SPEAK UP, don't be doing the same mistakes that I've done.

Okay... if your family isn't doing anything about it you need to call social services. Anorexia is a mental illness. It's a disease, and if your step father isn't doing anything about it, that's child abuse. He might as well find out she has cancer and leave her to her own devices.

If it's to the point where she is literally close to death, then I wouldn't worry about pissing anyone off by saying something. I'd really rather have someone pissed at me than be partially responsible for a death... talk to a teacher at school, a councelor, ANYONE. Just do SOMETHING, and fast.

Best wishes honey, and prayers.

She definitely needs to get sent away to a hospital for this stuff asap. As for talking to her be blunt and rude even, say can I have all your stuff, Cd's, shoes..etc
When she ask why say well your going to die anyway. My cousin lived with us for a while because her mother couldn't handle that she was anorexic, after a while she didn't want to hear anything about it. We shared a room and one day I told her if she wanted to kill herself get out of my room. Because i didn't want to stay with her if she didn't care about herself. (Actually I was way more mean about it ) that weekend she moved back home and started eating fine. Now shes doing great in the air force. Good Good luck

What you and your family is doing is letting her die. It has to be you to do something if no one is willing to help her. It is not true that she has to make that decision on her own, especially if she is already weak and cannot think on her own. So that's where you come in. Take her to the emergency room and explain to what is happening to her. Might want to call the crises center in your local yellow pages.

Don't watch her die, watch her live and do what is right.

OMG...this is serious and please for your good and hers, just tell her! I mean, of course she probably knows shes so skinny, but tell her the risks and just talk to her! Of course, I'd be scared too...that talking to her will make it worse...but she's gotta know!!! There's this thing, I forgot what it's called, but when you're sooooo skinny but you think you're fat. Does she know she's skinny? If she does, is there any reason she's starving herself? It is obvious by now that she doesn't care or doesn't want to fix her eating habits. PLEASE! I can't go obver there and do something about it because I'm just a kid online trying to help, but you can!!!!!!!!!!! GOOD LUCK WITH THIS SITUATION!!!!! <33 xoxo

From what I understand of anorexia is that they freak out about how fat they are so they go on a massive diet. I think the only people that could fix her is us males. She needs someone to ackolage her for her, regardless of weight or whatever.

If possible make her feel like she is good the way she is. You dont need to say it exactly but yeah

you are right... there are rehabilitation centers for people with eating disorders where the patince live until they can recover from the illness, it is important that is she is in that late of a stage that she goes somewhere where they can help her, but before helping her you must make shure that she survives, my best advice would be to bring her to a regular hospital emergencey room where they can refer you to a place hat can treat her

you need to sit down and talk to her about it. even though she isn't exactly family you should still care about her enough to help her. it may not seem like the best thing to do at the time but it is the right thing to do.

Call children's aid immediately.

The girl needs to be in a treatment program.

Your parents, although they mean well, are doing EXACTLY the wrong thing by ignoring the problem.
