I don't believe in God.

I believe in God, because of a near death experience I had. Ironically, that is also what probably turned me away from religion, because my experience of God was not the same as the religous teachings of God.

When I was standing in the light, you knew the answers to all of the questions you ever wanted to know, but none of them were important any more. All of this stuff we put between us as human beings is stuff we have created not what God would want for us. I know because I have felt him in my soul. He is in all of us, and every living thing and, and we are in him connected to all living things. It gives a whole new meaning to do unto others.

People can say what they want about what you experience during a near death experience as being a deprivation of oxygen, but having experienced it I do not think that is accurate.

Nobody can prove any gods, much less a specific god, exist; many people will tell you their god exists but no others, but will never be able to prove it, even if they think so. Some will threaten you with eternal pain or promise eternal joy to get you to believe in their god; these are all stories, created for people who were scared long before we understood the universe. Now we have no more reason for these superstitions.

God is common sense. If there were no god,why would anything exist? Why would we be conscious, aware of ourselves, aware of reality?God comes in three aspects (this is from my religion, but it does not have to actually do with religious belief, its common sense). The first aspect is Brahman, the infinite, the everything and the nothing, the ultimate reality, the supreme energy of everything. Then there is Bhagavan, god himself, the actual form of god,not just raw energy,Bhagavan is the absolute truth, and the final destination for all beings. Then there is Paramatma, the supersoul, the energy inside us,our soul's core, god's energy within us is called Paramatma, atma means soul in Sanskrit (ancient Indian language) and paramatma is the supersoul. No matter what the paramatma will always be there for us,the paramatma is the ultimate friend, our companion, our consciousness, our energy and our guide, the paramatma is god within you.God is in every atom, but the paramatma is god in the soul of all living beings.

These words I am using is Sanskrit,I am Hindu (Sanatana Dharma),so these are the words we use,an ancient Indian language.

God is just a simple common sense, the modern day view of god as some angry person in the heavenly planets sending everyone to hell is clouding everyone's vision.Thats not god, thats just a human conception, the prohpets were able to see god properly, but now its interperted in that format.

Don;t see god in that way,see the real god,the absolute god,the eternal god.See Krishna,Vishnu,Allah,Jesus, see the all mighty being, the controller of all things in existence, the destination of everything and the supreme intelligence.Who created the material Universe we inhabbit with meer thought,by turning thought into ether, ether into air,air into water and water into solids.

an answer that has nothing to do with religion????that's funny because where God is an issue, there must be religion ...well, even if nonreligionists say they dont believe in God, they themselves DO !!! for God created us to worship...GOD...the difference is that athiests worship not the God in heaven but make gods out of anything to worship: idols, Work, material things/riches, anything...we worship God for a REWARD.... for the christian, the reward is etenal life....to the atheist, riches maybe ? God bless

Too much going on in this world to not believe in a higher power. Your perspective of the "power" depends on your own experience/interpretation. As I see it, "GOD" exists, but cannot be put into a neat little package as defined by your religion or lack thereof. Decide for yourself...."God" gave you a brain for a reason!!

Your question is a contradiction. You can't talk about God without talking about some sort of religion. I most certainly believe in God.

I'm not especially religious, but I think everyone believes in God a little. Why else would we keep getting up every morning and trying again? Simply this: Hope. Hope that this day is a little better. To me, God is Hope. Probably not what you wanted to hear, but great question!

I believe in God - aka a supreme being - because we all had to come from somewhere. If you believe in creationism - someone had to create all this; if you believe in evolutionism - we had to evolve from something that was created by someone; if you believe in the big bang theory - someone had to create whatever it was that "banged".

I believe in a power greater than ourselves, it is your choice as to what to call that power. I just refer to it as the ONE who watches over me. I believe we are sent what we need when we need it. the trick is to recognize that we need what we are sent. I am not sure this really answers your question but it was a chance for me to clarify alittle of what I have been thinking. Thank you. I needed your question tonight.

I was out in this world lost, living life for myself, nasty, and one day a change came to my life and I was wooed by the Lord to drink of his living water, I did, and now, I rest secured that He handles my life and all of me and about me. I know that when I have been alone and situations are handled that I have told no one else and I have prayed, oh how wonderful to see the Lord prove himself!!! Please consider to reach out to Him.
