Well first of all, you're not addicted to food. The only things you are addicted to are oxygen and water, you can live quite some time with no food.

Second...Exercise. Get some. Doesn't matter how, just start doing something that will elevate your heart rate for 30min per day.

Third...Nutrition. Very simple, eat healthy...fruits, veggies, instead of sweets and junk food.

Start slowly, remember if done correctly, the weight will come off, and stay off. Diets are fads, they come and go. A healthy lifestyle is what you are aiming for. If you "slip" don't be too hard on yourself, everyone does it. Just pick yourself up and get back on the "horse"!! Good Luck

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Well for starts, forget all that diet stuff. Big unhealthy waste of time. If you become serverely depressed or move to a foreign country, you could turn mildly anorexic like I did! But that's probably not a good option. What you must do is, you must make a pact with your mom to berate you if you ever raid the fridge or look for ice cream. Snack on nothing but cucumber, and just don't think of momentary satisfaction. All you need is willpower. And it is a whole lot easier to say than do. SO first, you gotta believe and love yourself.

Well, your Body Mass Index is fine. Technically, you are not overweight. So, I'd say your main goal shouldn't be to lose weight, but to adopt a healthier lifestyle. Now, what concerns me is your phrasing "I am addicted to food." This tells me a few things. Number one, you probably aren't eating a healthy, balanced diet, and number two, you don't have the right mindset to approaching your goal of weight loss. The first thing you need to address is the food. I'm guessing the food you're addicted to is junk food, the stuff full of fat and sugar. So the first step would be to replace much of the junk food in your diet with healthier alternatives, little by little. Notice I didn't say that you should dump all the junk food out of your diet all at once. Frankly, I don't think you could quit "cold turkey". So, one week, everytime you reach for a cookie, eat an apple instead. In the subsequent weeks, gradually trade up the rest of your junk food snacks for fruits and vegetables. The next thing is to add protein and complex carbs to your diet to replace the fat and sugar you're taking out of it. Proteins and complex carbs are more filling and provide energy for a longer period of time. A good example of a lunch would be a turkey sandwich with tomato and dark greens on whole-grain bread (or a veggie burger if you're a vegetarian), carrot sticks, a low-fat yogurt cup, and water. Which brings me to my next point- water. Water is essential for a healthy lifestyle. Instead of pop/soda, carry around a water bottle with you and sip water all day to keep you hydrated and keep your systems clear. As far as other beverages go, low fat milk and fruit juices (not CapriSun, but REAL fruit juices) are fine, but make sure that water is your main beverage of choice. Before I move on, there are a couple more things about food that I want to address. The first is color. Make sure you eat a variety of vegetables and fruits, and one way to make sure you're doing so is by eating vegetables and fruits of different colors- red like tomatoes and strawberries, green like spinach, blue/purple like eggplant and blueberries, orange like carrots and oranges, etc. Make sure that you eat dark greens, not light, since dark greens have more nutritional value. Eat whole grains like whole grain bread and pasta. Don't eat white bread. Stay away from red meat; eat poultry/seafood instead. Instaed of fried, go with baked or boiled. Use spices in your food to add more flavor- if it's more flavorful, you might eat less. Exercise portion control- use the 80% rule (only eat enough so that you are 80% full). Eat more slowly so that your brain can process when you're feeling full, so you know not to overeat. Oh, and this doesn't mean you can't have the occasional ice sream, potato chips, or cookie. Just eat them as a treat, not as your everyday fare.

The next thing is exercise. No, exercise doesn't mean you have to train for a marathon. Just find an activity that you enjoy doing, like swimming, yoga, biking, running, playing soccer, etc. and do it about four to five times a week. Exercise with a friend if you like. The important thing is that you enjoy doing it- if you enjoy it, you're more likely to stick with it.

And remember, you're 13 yrs. old. You're going through puberty, so it is ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT that you not go on some sort of crash diet or even worse, become bullimic/anorexic because you could really do some long term damage to your body. You're still growing, and the steps I've outlined above will help you keep up a healthy lifestyle so that you will stay healthy and fit for years to come. The most improtant thing is to love and embrace your body and be proud of it. Be proud of yourself and remember that you don't have to be stick thin to be beautiful.

You don't need to diet-just cut out the late night snacks and between meal junk food. You are still growing in height so just exercising and eating healthy food will make you more toned and as you grow in height you will slim down. Get involved in a sports team like swimming or track-the workouts and practices will tone your muscles while you are having fun.
