Contact the Credit Card company & ask them to REMOVE YOU FROM THE ACCOUNT...

Next, contact the FBI (thru thier website) and file FRAUD CHARGES against the person who did this (if it was without your consent)

Once the CreditCard company removes your name from the account.. then call the Credit Card company & tell them that they need to remove the account from your Credit History for ALL CREDIT BUREAUS

You'll need to prove the joint account was created without your consent. I believe you'll need to hire an attorney who will then file discovery papers. The credit card company will then be required to turn over the application. A mediator (or judge) will need to compare the signitures. You may also need to file charges against the person who committed the fraud. If it's a small amount, the credit card company may end up correcting the report instead of paying their own attorneys to appear in court.

If I were in this situation.... before starting the above action... I would write the credit card company a certified letter informing them of the fraud, include your signiture so they can make their own comparison, and give them a date to respond by prior to you handing this situation over to your attorney. Make sure you give them 45 to 60 days.

You will have to prove to the credit reporting agency that you were fraudulently included on this credit card. Credit reporting bureaus do not just 'take your word for it.' Can you imagine the fiascoes which would ensue if they believed everyone who called them with a similar situation ?

You need to go to the card issuer and take up the situation with them. Ask for proof that you requested to be named on the card, while courteously explaining your situation.

You need to call the creditor that you have the credit card with. Call them and speak to a manager and tell them of the non consent, if you did not sign anything or give them permission then you may have a viable reason.

The contact information should be on your credit report.

Good Luck
