find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

You are the same height and weight of me. I am 13 though. I feel the same way about my body. What I have been doing is running or jogging. I get outside a lot more and I do push ups, sit ups, and crunches and just things like that. I lift free-weights a lot as well. As for the diet just eat less. Do not starve yourself though. But remember, just eating less and healthier will not make you skinnier with out the proper excercise. I use to weigh a lot more then you do now. I lost about 15 pounds in a month doing what I posted above. I am still working on it though because my b-day is in the summer and we just got a pool!! Gotta get into the bikini!!
Best of luck to you!

First of all, go to this site and figure your BMI: http://apps.nccd.cdc.gov/dnpabmi/Calculator.aspx
Well, your best bet would be to talk to a dietician or at least your health or gym teacher. At your age you don't want to do anything too drastic like severe calorie cutting or starvation diets. It's important for your growth to eat a well balanced diet. If you start starving yourself or working out way too much, you'll hurt yourself and become unhealthy (not thin!) and you'll be too weak/injured to get to a healthy state.
Until you talk to your health teacher or a dietician, something that will immediately help is to stop eating ALL junky, processed food and stop drinking anything that isn't milk or water. You'll be suprised at how much you'll lose by just doing that.

At your age, it shouldn't be too hard to lose weight. Here are some things to either quit or cut down on:
SODA***
mayonnaise
fried food
fast food (except the salad or baked potato)
sugar and junk food
Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables (including salads). Drink plenty of water, and if you crave sweets--eat raisins or grapes to curb the craving.
Be sure to get plenty of exercise in the fresh air every day. That can be walking/jogging/running, sports, swimming, etc. I just read that people who walk outdoors in green places feel much better about themselves than people who walk in malls.
Good luck--SODA is really important--my son lost about 30 pounds in a few months just from not drinking soda, and using oil or mayonnaise. He still ate regular sized meals--but not anything fried or any fast food and desserts.

You sound like you are in the healthy weight range.
Most models suffer an illness called anorexia nervosa or bulemia nervosa. With theses illnesses comes hard drug dependency. Theses illnesses although called slimmers diseases are in fact psychiatric diseases. Girls start to diet so hard that it messes with the brain. Both these illnesses can have long term physical effects on the body or can result in death. Please consider these points before you start dieting. Perhaps if you are really concerned your mum or dad could take you to a Dietician for some healthier tips. Alison S

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
Get started today!
