What will happen to the rest of the still "illegal" aliens? It doesn't sound as if there will be many of them who want to fork over the five grand.

IMO we should deport them and give LARGE fines to any employer who hires them! They would start fleeing quicker than anything. If they have children, they should keep the entire family together. Enforce current laws, instead of pushing this deal that sounds like the illegals don't want anyway.

I really don't think many of the Illegals will pay the $5000.00, if it be in small payments or not. They have ignored our country's laws by coming here Illegally, and have the gall to hold up their flag in our country and demand amnesty here. It is going to cost us all very dearly in all aspects.... extra law enforcement... ( not to mention the victims of their crimes )government handouts to them ...and then later to their children. Hard working Americans are burdened enough, we don't need " good church people " subsidizing and hoarding them, contrary to our laws. Don't expect politicians to help us with Illegals either...they are afraid to tackle this problem for lost votes. If they give them amnesty, they will be coming out of the woodwork then, demanding housing, government help etc. It is not fair to the many responsible legal Aliens who have gone through proceedure to become legal citizens here. They deserve better also. I won't vote for anyone who will be lenient with Illegals. If the Liberals want to ignore the laws, and have such "good hearts", maybe they should all host and support an Illegal family in their own homes....and they should have to "press one for Spanish !" ( not us English ) That's just the start of what's to come.

Lets take a moment to examine this statement. It's kind of like baking a political cake. 1. Take one part Chuck Schumer. 2. Add two parts the blue loose lipped asshole in the white house. 3. Add Eric the dream Holder. 4. Add Dead in the water Harry Reid. 5. Add the soon to be shot dead in the *** Pelosi. 6. Stir up and offer 20 million Illegals all kinds of perc's Bake at room temperature, for a few months. and serve shoved down the throats of the rest of the country. Yes Looking at who is in the mix. This could possibly come to fruition. If it does there will be a civil war.

We need an ID card for the people who follow the new guidelines, pay the 5K and receive the temporary 'visa' while they work for residency. The card should be impossible to duplicate. Then employers would either have a green-card check (for legal immigrants) or an ID check (for illegal immigrants who are now following new rules). Seeing that employers already file information on SS#, driver's license etc., this can't be that hard to enforce. No green card? No ID? No employment.

Meanwhile, build the fence. But include openings for wildlife with video cameras (anyone not four-legged coming through can be collected by border patrol and sent home).

It's a net loss either way. Ever heard of the earned income tax credit. If you have 5 kids and make $30K, you don't pay Federal Income tax, the Feds actually send you a check for a couple of thousand dollars. They will also start collecting social security in about 20 years.

None of this would bother me, except that all the Liberal 20-somethings of today will be saddled with the bill just when I'm starting to collect social security. I'm picturing a lot of Conservatives that will want to cut MY benefits once they see the bill. I hope they all remember these halcyon days.

It would be an enforcement nightmare to fine the employers. It's not happening now......

But as some do take the $5,000 Green Card, THEY will be getting the jobs. It will become easier for employers to hire legals (as there will be more of them), and it will be harder for illegals to get jobs.

They'll have to choose to get paid even less than they are now - and stay illegal - or get legal and make an OK wage.

Those who don't pay to get the amnesty deal will run a much higher risk of deportation. Gradually they will get deported...or in a few decades they will die. The problem will take care of itself in a generation or two. The only way it will continue indefinitely is if the high-tech border control that they are proposing isn't followed through, and millions more are allowed to come in.

It's 5k in 8 years - that's only 50 bucks a month. If you can afford to watch Galavision on cable, you can afford the Amnesty.

Nothing because what makes any sane person think the new laws will be enforced when the existing ones are not?

I agree, they are all so low class, they will never pay enough in taxes to repay what they've already taken. Do you think they will work for less when they are legal?
