Christians/Jews: When Jesus (or the Messiah) returns, what would he need to do to prove to you that he is God?

Question

Would he need to demonstrate some kind of supernatural magic?
Do you expect him to look like the guy in the paintings?
Will he have a halo?
Will the world be ending in Armageddon?
How will you know that he is the real Messiah?

I'm getting quite a mix of answers so far. Will he bring peace or war? Will he be flesh or god? He'll have holes in his hands that haven't healed in 2000 years?

He'll build a temple? There already is a temple on the spot (it's a mosque).

Sounds like this man of peace is going to do a heck of a lot of killing. Not exactly how I envisioned the Messiah.

The Book of Revelation with all its death and destruction is in the Christian Bible -- not the Jewish Bible. The Jewish messiah will bring peace on earth, not destruction!

The Jewish messiah won't be a god. He will be a mortal man who will re-build the Temple, bring all Jews to Israel, and bring world peace. He won't have to prove he is a god because he won't be one.

well first the messiah is not divine he is a human being.

and he will prove himself to be the messiah though his actions. That and only that will be what defines him.

- bring about world peace
- Restoration of the Davidic Monarchy with him as the head
- restoring the temple in Jerusalem.

If a man dose that he is the messiah, plan and simple

It is my fear that my Jewish brethren will be deceived by the Antichrist and believe he is the messiah because he will have supernatural magic and the world will be headed toward Armageddon. I believe my redeemer has already come.

All things listed by Gratvol are characteristics of the Antichrist-and that is what scares me. People will see these things occurring and think he is the messiah, when really he is the opposite (thus the term ANTIchrist).

The messiah will look like a regular person, and b e a regular person. God is God, the messiah is the messiah.

he need not do anything to prove that he is God...his word says he will come in the clouds with the archangels, SHOUT , and the graves of the righteous dead will open... these will change in the twinkling of an eye into eternal life...icorrupted to eternity...he will be in his glory as God..Paul's letter to the Thessalonians say that THE WICKED SHALL BE DESTROYED WITH THE BRIGHTNESS OF HIS COMING...that is why we , being in our present sinful state, cannot see God face to face...as Moses requested but couldnt since he was still in his sinful state and would die eternally....about the nail marks, yes...for he is both human and God to eternity....God bless

first When he comes the whole world will know in an instant. Second he will kill a lot of people in the battle of Armageddon, and I mean a lot. If that isn't enough to believe then put your fingers in the holes in his hands. He is and will be the Messiah.
I will tell you one thing that if you are in the presence of Jesus your whole body, soul and spirit will know that they are in the presence of your creator.. Nobody will have to tell you, the power that will come from HIM will be incredible..

The Bible says when He returns He will defeat the Armies surrounding Israel at the time.

It will take seven months to bury the dead and blood will flow as high as a horse's bridal, about five feet deep.

I don't think He will be very hard to miss!

And one more thing, the Bible says we will know him by the nail prints in his hands.
